I enjoyed my stay there. It's close to everywhere you name it the place was clean and great people running the show. I love it and i will go again whenever i go to LA.

Are all these ratings from the hotel themselves?! This place was an absolute nightmare. Of course, at least the sheets were clean (I think), but everything else was in poor taste. The walls were dirty, and I was scared to walk around the carpet without any shoes on. ON top of that, I was misqouted rates (there was a much cheaper rate of 44.99 advertised in the traveler's magazine), yet when I argued that I was initially charged more, I was not credited the difference. There was also some attitude on the other end in trying to clarify a $10 key deposit (are plastic keys that much to buy or reissue?). If you just need a place to BE for a night, may be worth the price, but if you're looking for an overall good experience. I would not advise.

Hidden deals! Make sure to grab a traveler's magazine for the best hotel rates, they're usually at the airports and all the malls and 'tourist attrations.' Or, get smart and just ask them to book you under an advertised rate (even if you don't know what it is). The front desk clerk may offer information without you having to go looking for a printed ad. Also, don't forget to ask about any other special discounts the hotel may offer (senior discouts, AAA, etc.). "Is this the best rate you can give me." is a wonderful question!

Hollywood area in 4 days I have "done" a Hollywood area trips 4 years in a row with German foreign exchange students and here are my tips to get the most out of 4 days after evening arrival. 1st day: Hollywood sign and Mullholland Dr, Highland Ave & Hollywood Blvd - Chinese Theatre, Walk of Fame, etc, Pretty Woman flat (Las Palmas hotel), souvenir shops; eat at Hooters Wednesday night and you may see a Hollywood premier - limos arrive around 6:30-7pm, hard to see across the street but you might be lucky. (I saw Leo DiCaprio). 2nd day: Rodeo Drive, Wilshire Blvd and Bev Wilshire hotel - can take photos of the Pretty Women film areas (no video though) - elevators, phone booth areas, front desk but be respectfull of guests and interrupting normal hotel service; afternoon, Venice Beach/Santa Monica Pier and spend evening in 3rd Street Promenade. 3rd Day, Universal Studios all day and into evening including City Walk. 4th day - finish up with last minute Hollywood Blvd sights, driving up canyons for views.
