Historical Traveller Reviews of Comfort Inn Eagle Rock Hotel
This hotel was filthy! We were scheduled to stay for 8 nights, but checked out after 1 night. The hotel doesn't look bad from the street, but the dirty sidewalks in front of the rooms are the first sign of it's poor cleanliness. Our room's carpet was dark green and I could see stains on it! There were water stains on the ceiling and by the door. The wallpaper was pealing off around the door and under the sink. There were drip marks in various colors on the bathroom walls and door from previous guests. Everytime the room above us flushed their toilet, our room smelled like a sewer! It was hard to sleep in that smell. I kept my shoes by the bed for bathroom trips during the night. We checked out the next morning and went to stay a few blocks away. This hotel is NOT that close to Pasadena's Old Town (as they advertise) - there are other's closer. This is misleading. It is in a bad part of town with gangs, etc. I would give this hotel "0" stars if I could. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Very Clean Rooms
I was on a trip to LA with some friends and wanted a place close to Pasadena. We selected this one because the rates were very affordable. When we got to the room I was very surprised how clean this place was, I wasn't expecting it! and as a matter of fact the pool there is one of the cleanest pools I've seen. Starbucks is just within a block as well as other coffee shops like swork which I really liked a lot. So, if you are looking for a clean and affordable hotel you should give them a try.
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms we got there were very clean and nice. I actually wasn't expecting that since the hotel looks small. They have excellent Internet connection and that made my job a lot easier. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the Area.
Good enough for One Night
The neighborhood felt kinda dodgy. Since I had a heavy suitcase I had to switch to a downstairs room since there is no elevator. The room is spacious, but you can hear busy street traffic when with doors and windows closed. The gang tagging scratched on the bathroom mirror was a bit off-putting.
Best stay and value
We choose Comfort Inn, Eagle Rock based on their low price that was offered during the holiday season, and was pleasanly surprise when we arrived there and was received graciously by the front desk staffs. Also, the deluxe continental breakfast that offered with your stay was of good value with many choice of pastries and fresh waffle. We have traveled extensively and please to say that the staffs were most helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. We definitely will come back again when we revisit our relative in the near future.
Horrible place to stay, poor customer service all the way up to corporate
Made reservation online. The their booking system locked up so I called customer service to verify if reservation had been made. They verified it had and sent me a confirmation. Upon arrival at the hotel, they said I had 2 reservations and charged me for both. My confirmation only showed one. Even though we had stayed there several times before, they refused to reverse the charge for the second reservation that I did not make. They were rude at the hotel and even when I called to corporate, they were rude too. I will NEVER stay at any of the Choice Hotels after our stay there since the corporate office doesn't know how to handle a long time customer. Since my husband's martial arts school students stay where we stay, they just threw away about $7K a year. Hope they enjoy the $98 they charged me. :-) Beware of making reservations here.
Very unpleasant two-day stay in November 2006. I was exhausted when we checked out because of road noise and people checking in and out all night. It took an hour or more to get someone to clean the sidewalk outside the room door after party folks were obviously ill. The office did nothing to control party noise well into the a.m.
Housekeeping leaves much to be desired as the carpets appeared dirty and stained as well as the walls in the bedroom and bathroom.
There seems to be varying degrees of quality throughout the Comfort Inn system.
The Pasadena Comfort Inn about 5 miles away is pristine clean, comfortable and quiet. I feel at ease eating in their breakfast buffet room which is clean and attended. Internet access is free.
I stayed at this motel for a week while visiting friends and sites in various areas of Los Angeles. As I didn’t need to be right next door to the major attractions, I considered it to be a good mix of location and value. It is well served by highways and Colorado Blvd., which is a main city street. Eagle Rock Plaza is nearby, and all of the amenities of Glendale are only minutes away by car.
The room was large and had very little evidence of wear and tear. The in-room safe and fridge were both appreciated. The bathroom and vanity areas were clean and looked quite new. The heating/air-conditioning unit was modern and worked very well.
A complementary breakfast was available in an area set up in the motel’s lobby. The quality and variety of breakfast items offered was much better than I had expected and the lobby was clean and bright.
I enjoyed my stay at this motel and would return.
Noise, Noise, and more Noise!
This is the noisiest hotel I have stayed in in years. The hotel is very close to the street and faces Colorado Blvd., which sounds like a freeway because of the topography of the hill across the road. Luckily the air conditioner was working and provided a little white noise. In addition the patrons came and went from their rooms at all times of the night, and patrons' car alarms went off 3 times during the night. Multiple yellow water stains on the popcorn ceilings further detracted from our room's appearance. Chairs in the room were soiled, but the bathroom had recently been refurbished, and bedding was OK. Overall a very depressing place, unless you're planning to stay awake all night anyway!
Best Deal around
I needed to get into the hotel before the official check in time, and the front desk clerk was very accommodating. Room was clean and very spacious. All rooms seem to have a small refrigerator in them. Breakfast was very good, with fresh waffles, o.j., 2 cold cereals, assorted breads and muffins, hot drinks, and fresh oranges and apples. I would definitely stay here again.
