I was a little afraid after reading the earlier review. I tried it for the price and was quite happy. The staff was friendly, and I think they must have done some updates to their room as it was clean. My wife was happy and it was fair.

Customer service & cleanliness...FAILED!

We booked this hotel with the intent that it is close to the price is right a.k.a. CBS studios. The non-smoking room was litered with cigarette butts. When made apparent to the hotel staff, we were then blamed and told to leave, without a refund.

In my shock and surprise of the moment, I franticly packed my bags, trying to make my point that I'm a non-smoker and always have been! With the hotel staff screaming and threating me, I exited asap. I was in such a state of shock and disbelief that I had been treated so rudely, for nothing that had to do with myself.

Myself being a business owner that specializes in customer service and cleanliness, I had never seen anything like it! I was truely shocked at the fact that this business could not take responsibility for its own actions and to remedy the problem, whatever it may have taken! What a unhappy, unsatisfied experience this was! No positive review here!

Top Local Tips for Los Angeles

Farmers Market and the Grove Great shopping in a unique enviroment. The Farmers Market has a huge selection of food in a food fair setting without the Mall. Great way to spend the night in LA open til 11pm. Place to visit if you are in the vicinity, wouldn't necessarily travel across town to visit though.

Driving in L.A. There is so much to see and do in L.A. I would recommend renting a car if you came by plane as we did, unless you are planning to stay close to your hotel. L.A.is so big and spread out, It would be confusing to know the transit system and the cab fare would be very expensive. If you like driving and can take your time getting around, I found that driving on the city streets (especially in the mornings) is not so bad and we actually had fun as my wife was snapping photos of all the nice scenery in Los Angeles. The freeways can be crazy at times, and sometimes can come to a complete stop, so we only drove them when we had to. If you do take the freeways then make sure you study a good map, know where you want to go and watch the overhead freeway signs as they will always give you prior notice to your destination. Don't get caught in the right lanes on the freeways unless you are ready to exit or you will be forced off the freeway and will have re-enter. Most exit ramps are on the right.
