I was out last minute for a place to stay near the convention center in Long Beach, and the only sub-$150 room I could find was Colonial Motel. The booking was made through a very convenient, web-based interface. But it turned out that I paid more than most other people at the motel, since they had found a discount ticket on the web (http://www.visitlongbeach.com). The motel is situated some ten blocks from downtown Long Beach, and it's too far to walk. The blue line has a stop quite close, taxi costs about $12 from downtown LB.
Pros:
- Quite cheap
- Free broadband internet in the room
Cons:
- Shabby room, very worn.
- Broken toilet, missing remote control.
- Far from downtown
- Pretty bad neighborhood |
