We reserved two rooms for the "State Softball Iourament" on arrival we found a abandoned & stripped vehicle in the parking lot. The carpets were torn and had holes. The stairs had steps thet were broken and everything was dirty. We cancelled our reservations (at a cost) and found another hotel thst was very clean and cheaper too. Hellhole is being kind.

Lots of nice people who work there. I go to Lancaster quite often on business and I can honestly say the Desert Inn has a wonderful staff. The Coffee Shop has great food for a great price. I always spend some time kicking back in their lounge, chatting up the friendly bartenders they have there. I'm always satisfied with my stay and if there are any issues, they staff always remedies it as soon as they can. I would recommend this place for any business traveler looking for a comfortable place to stay and relax.

The Pits - what a hellhole

Absolutely the worst I have ever stayed in, it might now be non smoking but it never used to be, the rooms stank, the headboard had a screw coming right through it along with to staples and when you moved the bed it fell off the wall. The toilet seat wasn't fastened on and I wouldn't even bath the dog in the bath!!. The quilt over the beds was filthy and I wouldn't walk on the carpets in bare feet - filthy. What part of these rooms is "luxurious" not one bit of it was. NEVER stay there - we won't again.

Taxi I noticed the taxi service in Lancaster is a bit lacking. I would either rent a car or just call as soon as you know you'll need a taxi. Even if it's hours ahead. That way they can make sure one is in the area. Antelope Valley is a big place I guess. They are very slow in getting people picked up.
