A very pleasant surprise!

Having made an on-line reservation at another motel, we were sent to Tahoe Chalet because the other had over-sold. Initially angry at this unapproved change, we were pleasantly surprised by the clean rooms, friendly staff, and great location. As with many accommodations in the Tahoe area, the buildings are old, but this one is well-kept, and nicely furnished. Not a modern, high-end location, but you usually don't want to spend all your time in your room when you're at Tahoe anyway! Adequate parking, too!
