The Tahoe Beach and Ski Club is my favorite place to stay in So. Tahoe. Always very clean and people very helpful and friendly. Close to the Ski resorts as well as the casinos. I have stayed at the Tahoe Beach and Ski Club for the last 4 ski seasons. I would certainly recommend it to anyone and do.

Top Local Tips for Lake Tahoe

Hikers delight (even for the beginner like me) Buy a hikers book and see the amazing short trails available in this area. We took 3 one mile or less hikes to hidden lakes and water falls and then bought the book, there are so many more to see that we are already planning our next trip.

Altitude If you find you're huffing and puffing on the stairs more than usual, don't worry..!! The altitude is about 6,000 ft. With the huge lake surrounded by peaks it's easy to forget you are already in the mountains!

Try the North Shore We've been to Lake Tahoe dozens of times and stayed at the North shore most of the time. It is more laid back, less crowded and closer to Truckee and Reno. The south shore has the big casinos so if gambling and lots of people interest you stay there but bear in mind the north shore also has casinos.
