My stay at the Econo Lodge went well. My room and bathroom were big and clean. It had exactly what it said on the internet. The hotel pool had a good size and was very comfy. My room was cleaned each day and I got new towels was provided every day. The staff of the hotel were friendly and helpsome. Breakfast was not anything to write about - it was very poor when there were any. All in all a nice hotel where I would stay again.

Top Local Tips for Hollywood

driving Take Beverly Blvd and Melrose east west to Santa Monica blvd and Wiltshire to access other areas like the Fairfax (CBS) and the Grove;this usually avoids the gridlock on other main streets.

Dr Phil Show If you are a huge Dr Phil fan like me you will be pleased to know that tickets to the tapings of the show are FREE!!! You can find them on drphil.com or else they are handed out if available on Santa Monica Pier. The show tapes each week (apart from summer break) on Tues, Wed, Thurs - two shows per day. You can book for one show only each day but depending on availability may be able to stay and watch the next. You dont know until you are there what the show topic is. Arrive early and go to the loo before taping starts!!!

in l.a. you should have a car. go to the grove for sure, near the farmer's market. don't go with a group because there's too much to do. go to the natural history museum, the la brea tarpits, the observatory, and rodeo drive.
