Top Local Tips for Fresno

COOL Shopping Center This was my first visit to Fresno, CA. While driving on some nearby streets to this hotel, I found the Fig Garden Shopping Center located at the intersection of Shaw and Palm streets. It is VERY NICE and has an open, non-enclosed mall structure (you drive right up to each store and enter). Several neat restaurants also in this area--the more upscale shops include: Chico, Coldwater Creek, Pottery Barn, Applebee's, etc.

getting around The freeways near Freano seem to run north-south. We kept having to drive east-west, which took a loooooong time. If you are trying to pick a hotel, this is a good choice, but check a map to make sure you don't have too much east-west in your commute.

Huge shopping area Go to the RiverPark shopping center - 5-6 blocks away. Massive non-mall food, shops, stores in a tree-line esplanade.
