I liked my stay at Doubletree LAX because of standard 4* hospitality comparable to the neighborhood Marriott with half-the-price of the Marriot. The hotel is sitting in the middle of El Segundo's business area; it's close to LAX as well as within walking distance to the subway making it real easy to get to downtown LA. I will definitely stay at Doubletree hotel again.

Must stay if in LA for vacation

Recently spend Thanksgiving 2004 at the Double Tree and had a great stay. This is a beautiful new hotel. Just open for business in Jan 04. You are just minutes from the airport. You never have to worry about hearing planes landing or traffic noise during the night. You can be shuttled to and from the airport with no problems. The hotel is very clean. The price is right and the staff were very nice and helpful. There are unlimited food and malls (for the shoppers) within minutes from the hotel. Your 30mins from the Staple Center and 45-60 mins from Universe Theme Park.

A Wonderful Hotel

My husband and I just returned from a trip to the L.A. area. I got a great deal on Expedia for the first two nights, and we enjoyed the hotel so much, we came back two days later after a short side trip to San Diego. This is a wonderful location, quiet, great rooms and beds, and a friendly staff. I would highly recommend a stay and when we return, we will be staying here again. By the way, the second two nights we stayed they were nearly full but the front desk person recognized us from a couple of days previous and found us a room at the hotel. Very conscientious and observant. We never ate any meals at the hotel so can't really comment on that area. The parking is just in front of the hotel with plenty of parking, and IT'S FREE! And, it is just a few blocks from the airport and they have a shuttle bus. Great place.

Better value than I expected

I stayed at the Doubletree on a friend's recommendation and when I found out it was part of the Hilton chain I didn't expect value. My first impression suggested what I had expected, a business hotel that would not be tourist friendly and that would assume all guests had expense accounts (based on past experiences).

Boy, was I wrong. A great hotel at a good price, with friendly staff, the restaurant and bar were friendly, comfortable and good value.

A definite for an overnight stay next time I flying in to the USA.

Good location if you are flying out of LAX

We stayed at this hotel on Tuesday, September 7th 2004. This is the only hotel that I will stay at when I am flying out of LAX. Their park and fly rates are a little high, however I am willing to pay a little more for a place where I feel comfortable leaving my car for seven days.

We stayed at this hotel two years ago on our honeymoon and it was much nicer this time. The rooms were nice, the pool are is very relaxing and my husband always appreciates the cookies.

The only problem that we had was that our alarm clock didn't go off. We were saved by our back up wake up call. Next time I am setting the travel alarm also.

Excellent hotel, family stayed there Sept 04 and had a wonderful time. Very nice rooms, excellent staff, internet stations in lobby, clean pool, very comfortable beds.
And last but not least the famous double tree cookies, honestly the best I have every tasted. Only regret is that we did not stay at this hotel longer.

Me and my family stayed at the Doubletree for 3 nights in August. Hotel is in great location to the beaches and has great, new contemporary furniture. We were traveling with 2 children and had plenty of room to move around. I would stay here again!

This is a fabulous hotel, full of great staff. The location is excellent for business travellers or ppl just looking for a great hotel. The best thing about this hotel is its ROOMS! Recently renovated, the rooms and beds are to die for! Upon check in, they even call you to make sure everything is to your sastifaction! VERY impressed and will come back again.

One of the nicest hotel in our trip (we also stayed in Aladdin and Caesar's in Vegas)

Very comfy bed, lots of pillows, and very nice decor. The empty fridge for our use was also great. Location is not the best, but if you're coming to LA on a weekend with a car, it's not a problem or else you might be stuck in traffic for a while trying to get back to your hotel.

Cheapest hotel in our entire trip (~$46 a night with the Sunday Free after 2 nights stay - Booked on the hilton website)

The Ghirardelli chocholate chip cookies at check-in was a nice bonus.

Will definitely stay here again for our next trip to LA

The best nights of my vacation spent here

So here I was at a nasty hotel in sylmar (good nite inn, you can read my review) and I just placed the pine tree air freshener for your car on my headboard! Well I didnt have a reservation for the double tree until Saturday night but I couldnt take it any more. I called my brother and had him get me a room from expedia for the Friday night too and to my amazement there was one available. This place is easily the nicest hotel I stayed at my entire vacation. To start off it is near the airport and the parking is free, contrary to other hotels that charge $15 plus you get to start the day off with a cookie (the best one you will ever eat). The place is perfect; huge pillows, perfect bed, good sized tv, pool, hot tub, great food in the restaurant. This place was great. Friday night I paid $85 and saturday I paid $70 I believe (Saturday purchased on orbitz two weeks before travel) From here we drove to Venice beach which is maybe a fifteen minute drive. There is also a sports bar called sticks and steins near here where you can watch baseball and nascar and get a great breakfast. The hotel is not surrounded by restaurants but we did have Chinese food delivered to the room. You could walk to the beach from here but it would be about 2 1/2 miles but it is a safe neighborhood and El Segundo had a little town market going on. We are talking about flying from seattle to LAX checking in at the Double Tree and sleeping on the comfy beds and flying home.

Someone entered our room around 10:00PM.....front desk says they have no clue who entered our room. Go figure. They claim they did not open our door, but my boyfriend saw the door open. We requested the front desk to review the tapes and they said that they would. The next day they said they weren't able to review them yet. They gave us vouchers to dinner at the restaurant and apologized and now admitted that the front desk had opened our door the night before. (Their story sounds fishy to me......but anyways, a free dinner sounded good.) The next day I had to check out.....and guess what.....the "free" dinner had been charged to my room......go figure. What a freakin nightmare. I spent 45 minutes arguing with the front desk that I really did have a dinner voucher that they provided. They stated that they didn't see any dinner vouchers.......great. Finally, the manager did credit me back the dinner and I didn't have to pay it......but this should have been taken care of before I checked out. I would not recommend staying here for the incidents that happened to me. Hopefully, they won't happen to anyone else.

where to go for food if staying at doubletree lax go south on sepulveda, the manhattan village shopping area will be on your left - food and shops.

off site immenities IIf you don't feel like a hotel restaurant meal, there are several fast food eateries within a block's walk, along with a chain grocery store where you can pick up last minute items.

Airport Use Unless your destination IS El Segundo, you will be needing to get to or from the airport. This is where doubletree hotel really, really sucks. My shuttle driver began driving several miles in the opposite direction! Another driver drove right past us without stopping at the LAX pick-up (yes the correct pick-up spot). Ridiculous!
