Two friends and I went to Cambria to paint over a holiday weekend. The Creekside Inn was all that we could have asked for. The room was large, the beds were comfortable, and the creek really WAS just outside the room. The ice machine was close and the price was just right. I'll definitely go there again the next time I'm in Cambria.

Great place in Cambria

from CBergmanRN
Spent a night in January in the Creekside Inn.......a no frills, clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay (and priced right) in this quaint Central California town of Cambria. My husband and I (and his sister and bro-in-law) each stayed in the smaller of the rooms here and were very comfortable. We chatted with the owners while enjoying the continental breakfast (fruit, o.j., and local yummy pastries) the next AM, and they offered to show us the creekside rooms. These rooms were larger, with a tub and a shower, and a wooden deck overlooking the creek. The new owners are very friendly and eager to please. It is within walking distance of the quaint downtown area of Cambria with antique stores, restaurants and interesting stores and boutiques (with a local drug store with the largest selection of "rubber duckies" that you will ever find.) We will recommend it to our family/friends and are anxious to stay here again.

Fabulous experience

We just returned from a three night stay at the Creekside Inn in Cambria, CA. We found the hotel thru Trip Advisor and had a wonderful expirience! The owners are extremey friendly, accomodating and helpful. The rooms are very clean and reasonably priced. The location is ideal, short walk into town or a short drive to beautiful beaches.
The hotel is very pet friendly and the owners make each guest (human or pet) feel very special.
We are recommending the Creekside Inn to all our friends traveling to CA and are looking forward to a repeat visit.

Creekside Inn - A Genuine Treasure

from rvmama
We just got back from a two-night stay at the Creekside Inn. The stay was for a weekend family event - a surprise birthday celebration. The entire weekend was flawless! Tim at Creekside Inn was incredibly helpful in arranging the rooms and making us feel that we were the most important guests at the Inn. The rooms are spacious and clean. Even the pet rooms were extraordinarily clean - and, kept free of pet smells. Pets are just as welcome as the paying guests! Pets are greeted with dog biscuits and tons of attention - even greeted by name throughout their stay.
The location is perfect - just a short walk into town. There is a peaceful, tranquil feel at the Inn. Having used Trip Advisor to locate the property, I cannot believe how lucky we got! We are very much looking forward to returning to the Inn.

Warm owner, comfortable room and good price!

We were on our way back to LA from San Francisco. We had a really bad luck because our car hit a stone on highway #1 and had to be towed to some place. The tower kindly suggested the town Cambria and we ended up staying at this very lovely, clean inn. The inn owner showed great sympathy to us, and allowed late check out (4pm next day) till our car got ready. Also, the inn is pet friendly! We met somebody next day and she said she stayed in some other hotel (I don't know the name) and had to have her dog boarded. The other amazing thing is that the Wifi is really good! The inn is located within 5-minute walking distance to the shopping/dinning street, and we think it's quite ok to us. We highly recommend this inn!

Charming Little Inn

from dishwalla
I had to write because of the wonderful value my wife and I received at the Creekside Inn in Cambria. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the new management was bending over backwards to make sure everyone was happy. The property is just a short walk from the center of town, which enabled us to eat, drink, and be merry on our WALK back to our room.

We had looked for other rooms in Cambria, but they were all considerably more expensive and couldn't possibly have offered the friendliness we found at Creekside. We loved the town and the hotel.

Pleasant stay at Creekside Inn

from thetravelbug007
If you are traveling through Cambria, California(and you should...it is a very cute town on a georgous section of highway1) then I would definitely recommend the Creekside Inn. It isn't fancy...just a roadside motel with your basic ammenities. But, it has some nice touches...good landscaping and sunny yellow exterior with good-sized rooms that are clean and tastefully furnished. My room had a wooden deck that overlooked a small creek and greenbelt. The owners are new and very eager to please. They also allow dogs which was a big plus for me. Overall I found it a great place to stay for one or two nights.

Great Little Budget Place

from Curlyred964
My five year old daughter and I spent two nights at the Creekside while visiting for a wedding. This is a fantastic place for the money. The outside is warm and charming. It is ideally located. The service is friendly. The rooms are very clean. The pastries for continental breakfast were from a local bakery, not the prepackaged stuff traditionally served at budget style properties. We loved our balcony. In fact, we took the advice of another reviewer for this property and picked up some food at the Wild Ginger and took it back to our room and dined al fresco on the balcony.

I had to laugh at a few of the negative reviews for this property. We have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world and budget class accommodations. I know of no budget hotel/motel that keeps wine corkers available. For the people who were aggravated that there was no refrigerator for perishables, a call or email in advance to see if fridges were in the room would have solved this problem. It's not Creekside's fault or problem. This is a reflection of bad planning on the part of the traveller, not of the property's lack of amenities.

As for decrying the hotel's poor location - I beg to differ. It is on the east end of town, but within walking distance of some very good restaurants and very nice shops. The Wild Ginger is a small, up and coming Asian gourmet restaurant. We had a blast looking around.

Yes, thicker towels (and walls - at times I could hear other guests) would be nice, but hey at $49 bucks a night Sun-Thurs, I'm not going to complain.

I think that negative reviews on the property came from people who had "champagne wishes and caviar dreams" on a beenie weenie budget.

I would not hesitate to book this property again. If you're looking for a clean, friendly, but no frills place to stay at this is your ticket.

Simple and pleasant

from NVRam123
Pleasant, easy stay with small children. The motel has good parking right out front and the facade is covered with vines and all sorts of plants. Convenient to the east side of town, several restaurants and many shops. The 2 queen bedded motel room was clean and the continental breakfast was simple but yummy. Quiet and serene and no complaints (and we usually stay at 4 star plus types of places). Happy with the price and the experience.

Very nice - no complaints

from mohicans
We were only there one night - but found the 2 Queen room to be very clean and nice. It isn't high end - its for the budget traveller, but its clean, quiet and does the job. The front desk staff was very helpful - first by changing our reservation by a day and then recommending the Cambria Pines restaurant for dinner - what a lovely place and they have a great deal on dinner for 2 with wine - $40.00. Cambria is a pretty little town and this motel is within walking distance of the shops etc. but is quiet.

Good value and pleasant

Top Local Tips for Cambria

This is a dreamy/artsy town that makes me happy. The town rolls up it's sidewalks at 6pm-9pm. The French Bakery and Italian Bakery open before everyone else, which is around 10:00am. Lombardi's for dinner and dessert over at Robin's!

italian diner just off little high street five minute walk, good Pizza wine cheap and drinkable 5 ate for $80...

Great place for shoppin art items (American art) There are so many amazing shops on the street. They have great collections in American arts, so come and take a look at those very interesting items!
