Noisy, unclean

I chose this inn based on a review that said it was clean and comfortable. This is not so. The floors had not been vacuumed, and the towels had sticky pink candy on them. The inn is located right along Highway 101, so the noise was very loud - ALL night long. We had to stay two nights, and the second night, our key would not work on our door. We had to wait for the night manager to help us while she finished with some paperwork, and she blamed us for the key not working! She said we shouldn't keep the keys with our cell phones. (I don't have a cell phone!!) When we were finally able to enter our room, it still had not been vacuumed, and the sheets were not changed. If you don't mind unclean rooms, loud traffic and being blamed for the managers goof, this is the place for you!!

Very Disappointing

I was very disappointed with the Good Nite Inn in Camarillo and will never be staying there again. The biggest problem was that we had booked a non-smoking room. We even confirmed this point when we checked in. However, they still gave us a smoking room. Also, the bedding for one of our queen beds looked like it was for a double bed since it clearly was too small. The final disappointment was when we asked for three extra pillows ( since the pillows in the room were flat and hard ) and they failed to deliver all three.

As for positives, the office is open 24 hours and the cont. breakfast looked nice.

we had a very good holiday in california and we made a good choice for staying at the good nite inn. good price, good service, nice welcoming and close to lax. if we are going to california we would certanly stay in good nite inn. with our best regards petra kettenis and sonja bernard from the netherlands

A bug crawled across the desk as I checked in, there were burn marks on the plastic tub/shower enclosure and holes in the blanket and the upholstered chair. This is a very bare bones hotel, offering no morning coffee and only 2 thin towels per room. The carpets had old stains. The furnishings are old and worn, with only 1 bed per room. The outside of the hotel appears clean and freshly painted, but the interiors (I stayed in 2 different rooms) are in disrepair. The sheets may be too small for the mattresses because in both rooms they came undone before morning. They would not honor my reservation for a non smoking room.

My husband and I love to visit the area for golf and shopping. Have stayed at the Good Nite Inn a couple of times after trying other inns in the area. We will continue to lodge here because Craig, one of the managers treats us like we're special. The rooms are comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. Also, very clean and the price is right. Right on!

Nice clean room, staff very pleasant, especially Craig Oakley, assistant manager. Lydia was nice too, as was the housekeeper Amalia. Great deal for the price of $42 we found on Orbitz. Swimming pool and jacuzzi outdoors, but were nice. Coffee in am in office. Although right by 101, we heard no noise from freeway. Walking distance to Camarillo outlet mall.

Decent Place, Decent Price

Spent several nights while on business. Clean room, nice exterior appearance, friendly front end staff. Only gripe, the alarm clock did not work, reported it, but it was never replaced. Not a big deal. Several restaurants/coffee shops within half mile. Easy to get to, off Highway 101. Road noise not a problem for me, on the back side of the bldg. Will stay there again.

Nice .... Except for one thing

Stayed here while at a baseball tournament in Moorpark. I chose this over the lower priced Candlelight Inn because I had 3 kids with me and the Good Nite had a pool and spa, which was nice. Keep in mind its right next to Hwy 101 so the pool gets all the freeway noise (room was ok). This place is a clean, nice, decent 2story motel with a full size tub/shower and free coffee. Only negatives were no room fridge and no fitted sheets on the bed....what the heck!? Just two flat sheets that were in a big tangle in the morning. It is located right next to the Camarillo Premium Outlet mall/stores - nice upscale stores (Sony, Coach, Fossil, Vans, Guess, Barneys NY, etc). FYI we drove by the Candlelight, which looked cute and would be a better choice if you wanted to be walking distance to restaurants and the "Old Town" Camarillo, which appears to be no big deal, just a few restaurants and a couple of shops. JJ Brewskys looked like the hip place to hang out at night. It's and the east end of Old Town(Ventura Blvd).

Top Local Tips for Camarillo

Protect your assets In the future I will read about my proposed lodging on sites like this before making reservations. Then I will not be held hostage by companies like Hotels.com when they arbitrarily refuse to cancel reservations made in good faith.

Look around Look around, there are other hotels that are nicer. Do your homework.
