convenient for air travelers

from A TripAdvisor Member
Very nice room and bathroom. Friendly night staff. Immediate bellhop service with the bags. If you don't have breakfast included I recommend taking the 8 minute walk to Burlingame. Cross the freeway on the big overpass and go straight a couple blocks and there you are in an uncongested and quiet town with a bit of a Main St. USA feel. There is a donut shop across from the Walgreens which is also a restaurant with a great breakfast menu. Seems to be where the locals eat.

Kids will enjoy the rear seats on the shuttle, as you get a nice jolt on the bumps.

Good but not great

from A TripAdvisor Member
Nice hotel but really nothing special. I had a king bed in a standard non-smoking room. The room was a bit on the small size. Room was clean, but the lights on both sides of the bed were not working. It was only a small inconvenience. Hotel did offer free high-speed wireless internet, which I found very useful. I used the airport shuttle, which ran right on schedule every 25 minutes. The hotel location was close to SFO, but some ways from downtown. B.A.R.T. does connect the airport with the city; I found it easy to get to the places that I wanted to see. Using the air-port shuttle to connect me to the train system. Downtown took about 45 minutes by shuttle and rail.

I would stay here again, and would recommend if you are traveling in/out of SFO and are looking for a quick stop over. Price was fair at $89 per night, but I wouldn't pay much more than that.

Comfortable Business Hotel

from EaganTraveler
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Burlingame for many days this past June. The hotel is located south of the airport, right next to 101 and near many of the other airport hotels. Desk staff members are cordial and check-in is no hassle.
The rooms at the CPB are nicely furnished with modern bathrooms but small sleeping rooms. Best suited for business travelers and not families where more room is needed. While money was spent to update the hotel, they did not replace the windows that do not filter out the traffic noise from 101. If you can sleep with the road noise or leave the fan on the wall unit, you should consider this hotel. If road noise bothers you, try the Marriott, Doubletree or Sheraton hotels which are much quieter. The hotel offers free internet and two lobby computers with high speed internet for free. Restaurant is dark but food is very good for a chain hotel. Just down the street is Max's restaurant which offers a huge menu if you need to get out of the hotel. Like others have mentioned, most of the airport hotels are charging for parking and the CPB is no exception. They charge $13 a day for lot parking.

This is not Club Crowne Plaza and

from Aquasolaris
If you go and stay here for the Club Crowne Plaza rooms, don't bother. The only perk is breakfast which wasn't bad, but certainly not extensive. They should have served hors d'euvres before dinner, but discontinued that. I booked a week in advance and it was still on their website, even when we left and checked again they still had it on there. Strange pool, just put on for the sake of it. We asked for some toothpaste and shaving creams, but we could pick it up at the front desk (ehhm what is the notice about: Ring for any amenities and we'll bring them to you.) Saved on a tip anyway. Free internet wired and wireless was a great plus. Westin Airport san francisco didnt offer it for free.
The room was clean, but so noisy, no soundproofing at all and to top it they had a motelstyle airco unit on the wall, which made a racket as well. Bar staff was rude and un attentive. As they closed the concierge level (on the thursday, not even a weekend) we got vouchers to get our cocktails in at the bar. Big mistake. We had to wait for 15 minutes before the bartenter came to us. We were sitting at the bar and it was not at all busy. What is it with this hotel, are the affraid to walk?
The aiportshuttle was just dangerous. We were on our way at 9 pm (it was dark) we got on the ramp of the international terminal and the bus stalled. We stould there for 5 minutes no lights on with traffic zooming past. When the driver got it to work again it stalled on the freeway with people passing with 65mph. Someone almost crashed into us as we didn't have any lights again. The normally 5 minute drive took us 25 minutes and a lot of nerves. If it sounds like its going to stop any minute, get off, fast.
One plus is the housekeeping. My friend left his shoes in our room, and a week later we could pick them up. The cleaning lady came down to bring them to me, I tipped her, the only time next to the room tip. She was friendly, the one big thing i'm looking for in staff, the front desk wasn't impressed at all, as they made me (again) call the housekeeping to get someone. Dont pay more than 75 dollars for the rooms on any day of the week. If you like do it al yourself, stay here, but a Holiday Inn Express round the corner would have been just as good. $23 million invested, but where?

Can find better...

The hotel was nice overall. We stayed last November. There was some sort of prom or event going on downstairs so it was a bit noisy with a lot of people going in and out. Rooms were kind of small and some faucets and things in the bathroom needed fixing. We expected a bit more. I would rather stay at the Sheraton for a similar price, had a much better experience with that place.

Great hotel....very trendy decor...a must stay!

from Rusttribe
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Burlingame - SFO on October 28th, 2004. I still remember this hotel when it was a Park Plaza Hotel, and the first thing that is noticed when entering the hotel is that the 20 Million Dollar upgrade Crowne Plaza put into this hotel was surely worth it. Ultra-modern decor, great lighting, and fun furniture really make this place seem more like you are in a W Hotel versus a Crowne Plaza. As a Priority Club Gold member I was put on their Conceirge floor which came with a free evening drink and free continental breakfast in the morning. I was also in a "Quiet Room" floor which meant no loud noises, and special ammeneties, including a relaxation CD, eye pillow, and more. Though the room was a little small, the super comfortable bed made up for it in spades. Also a bonus is the nice granite bathroom and wonderful showerhead. The only downside of this hotel is the $13 to park, which is a little absurd for a Non-Downtown hotel. But if you appreciate a hotel that puts a little something extra into their apperance and decor, then this is the hotel for you!

Nice decor...nice restaurant/bar...nice everything!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed one night at the Crowne Plaza and was pleasantly surprised. Really nice contemporary decor in lobby and in room! Upon check in we received 2 complimentary drink vouchers because we are priority club members. Went to the restaurant/bar and it was really nice!!! Nice ambience...great menu too. The appetizer menu was very tasty! Our room was beautifully decorated! We also had free high speed internet service in our room. Lots of channels to choose from on the tv (not sure what the other poster was referring to...our room had many more channel selections that the other hotels we stayed at). Drawbacks...parking was expensive...never had to pay for parking in the airport area before so this was a huge drawback to me. Another drawback...no signage outside of hotel telling you where check in was...we went around in circles before someone was able to tell us where the lobby was. Would consider staying again if the parking was free...otherwise I would stay at the Staybridge Suites in San Bruno...free parking and free breakfast.

Good Rate But VERY pricey Amneties...

from A TripAdvisor Member
Well we paid 45 a night from Priceline, which was nice but when we got there we were hoping to not spend much money, so we brought our laptop and parked in the 13 dollar parking lot which added up after 3 days, plus the parking lot never had a security guard in it. Our room was ok, but kinda squished, We went online and had problems staying on then to find out they charge a per hour fee. Which costed pretty pricey. They have a business center to, which you have to pay for. The pool was crowded, and noisey. We said we neeeever wanted to stay there again.

nice hotel if not for the room

from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel in itself was very clean and modern. The staff for the most part was friendly. We absolutely loved the Concierge/Information gentleman posted by the entrance to the lobby. He was very friendly and helpful with information regarding local entertainment and even made reservations for us at a restaurant he thought we might like. We loved the restaurant. My only complaint to this hotel is how incredibly small the rooms were. Very modern room with a nice motif and bathroom fixtures but i couldnt get past how confined the whole room seemed. With the drapes closed, it was almost claustrophobic. To offset this, we opened the drapes wide open and cracked the windows a little into tricking ourselves a little. All in all, a nice hotel, but if your the type that loves a spacious room...this hotel is definitely not for you.

very small rooms, but newly remodeled

from carlie1964
I am in the travel business so I have stayed at most of all the hotels in Burlingame. This was my least favorite. I could smell cigfarette smoke in my bathroom! ANd if I opened the window it smelt like I was above a landfill. I have NEVER seen such a small room! Paking was $13.00 plus an extra $2.00 Burlingame tax per room (???) I tried to watch TV but from the 10 stations, 6 were sports related! Only PBS for kids shows and the recption was a JOKE!
