Will stay there again!

The Bay Landing Hotel is a fairly new hotel with only four floors. The room is very spacious. For two people we paid $90 a night and that includes parking and breakfast.

Since we visit Burlingame often, we will go back to Bay Landing again.

This is a wonderful hotel, we stayed 4 nights after staying 3 nights in downtown SF, we paid twice the price and got half the value plus $30 a day parking compared to free...A beautiful bay view and a great room and a superior breakfast to boot....WOW!!...This will be my only choice next time I'm in town

Great value for the Traveler

After reading reviews of hotels in the airport area, I decided to try Bay Landing over two others that were highly rated. I found a wide variation in room rates at online sites - so wide that I called the hotel directly. As I was staying there Thursday and Friday nights, they gave me a weekend rate of $99/night for a two-bed bay view unit. Upon arrival the lobby was very inviting - a chess set awaited those so inclined, free internet - limit to 15 minutes if others are waiting and the breakfast seating area which had 24-hour coffee and tea.

The rooms were inviting - with nice bed linens and headboards. Work desk was a nice extra. One negative was that the bathroom did not have fan ventilation as most hotels do - which is helpful in reducing unwanted odors.

The breakfast offerings were quite adequate, with a waffle maker and the usual assotment of fruits, cereals etc. It should be noted no eggs or meats are provided - this would be a nice addition.

The staff was quite helpful. All in all, quite a value for business or pleasure. Suggest if your primary use is a couple hours of relaxation and sleep that you opt for the street-side room to save the extra paid for a bay view.I plan to try the others but would stay here again.

Amazing, Wonderful Hotel

My girlfriend and I just returned from a week combo trip in SF and Wine country during which we stayed at 4 hotels and this one was probably the best of them all. We had a 4th floor corner room on the final night of our trip before flying out early the next morning. It was dark the whole time we were there, but from what we could see the view of the bay would have been spectacular. Extremely clean rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of space and little amenities, free parking, free breakfast (which we didn't do because of our flight time, but it looked great), and a giant sized bathroom with a dual (two person) shower. Noise was never a factor. Check in and out were a total breeze. The only, and I do mean only, knock I have on this place is they don't have bell service and only 3 or 4 small luggage carts which you must hunt down yourself. With a week's worth of lugage and wine shippers, that almost became a disaster for us.

Bottom Line: This hotel is a superb value at less than $100 a night, very convenient to the airport and perfect for those night before flight stays. It also would be a great option for an extended stay for business in the area and for pleasure if you don't mind taking the train up into SF. Highly recomended!

This is a wonderful hotel! They have done everything right. Large comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Everything is spotlessly clean. Fantastic complimetary breakfast. Especially the waffles. Free internet in the lobby, free parking.

There is a lovely bayfront boardwalk in front of the hotel. My husband and I enjoyed walking a few miles and watching the various birds , as well as the planes taking off and landing at SFO.

There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but a Elephant Bar and El Torito is right next door. There is a Benihana and various other restaurants just a block or so away.

All this for less than $80 a night. If you are looking for a nice convenient place to stay in the Airport area, this is the one.

Beautiful bay area hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Bay Landing with a bay view, it was gorgeous. We had a king room on the 4th floor room 416 overlooking the water and San Francisco Airport in the distance, but no noise could be heard from the planes coming or going. Huge picture window in the room that you could open with sheer curtains and also room darkeners. The room itself was very spacious, very comfy bed and beautiful big bathroom with granite counter tops and shower walls, nice comfy sitting chair and also a desk with two chairs, and an in room safe. Also a in room coffee maker and small fridge. They also have a wonderful breakfast buffet each morning, much more than just a continental breakfast as they had waffles, pancakes, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, coffee, tea, and juices. The entire hotel was extremely clean and front desk very courteous and helpful. They also have free shuttle that runs approximately every 30 minutes upon request to the airport if needed and also for transportation from the Bart train station to downtown San Francisco for all the sights. All in all, we would definately stay at this hotel again for any future visit to San Francisco rather than stay in downtown SF as we had first planned just for the "quietness" from being in the city all day.

I planned a vacation including a trip to SF during the 3rd week in August. I always check with TripAdvisor for tips and information. I chose to stay at the Bay Landing and was very glad for doing so. As others have mentioned, the facility is very nice, clean and fresh.

I first checked for availability with the hotel and was told the four days I needed were not all available. I checked with Expedia and found the days open and booked them at a steal of $69 per night.

The lobby is impressive with a small library and computer\printer for guests use. I had the workout room to myself and that was a great release. The morning breakfast selection was nice. Plenty to choose from and the waffle makers were great. The outdoor seating are overlooking the bay was nice.

The room was a good size for the proce. I enjoyed the room safe that was large enough to put my laptop in. Free hi-speed internet (wired), Refriderator and microwave made it like home.

The Mrs. got a kick over the stuff in the bath room and bribed the maids for extra little soap bars. I did miss there was no restaurant in the place but there are lots of choices nearby. I had a car so that was problem. Burlingame is peaceful and quite, I went into SF several days and it was hectic and congested. That was like being at home.

I will stay here again with no hesitation.

This hotel was great. it is about 20 min from the city and about 5 from the airport. clean and employees were great. continental breakfast was deliouse. i recomend anyone to say here

Awesome Deal!

They've only been open since October of 2004, which means the hotel is in excellent condition for being so new. It is only about 15 minutes from downtown San Francisco (if that). It is situated on a very quiet street (not much traffic) with amenities such as gas stations, restaurants, super markets, and an In 'n' Out hamburger joint nearby (what more could you ask for?). We spent under $100 per night at the Bay Landing and it was much better than what we expected for the price! For starters, the lady at the front counter let us upgrade to a Bay view room at no extra charge (usually it's a $10 charge per night to upgrade). The bay view is nice and it was fun watching the planes land at the airport. We didn't notice any sounds from the airport activity. The room we stayed in (Rm. 322) is very spacious and super clean. King bed, a comfy upholstered chair on one side, desk with chair, large television with internet access (MSNBC.com is free, all other web-access will cost $10 per night--or you can use their free internet service in the lobby, but you have to share with everyone else), Nintendo 64 is available to rent for the kids, also pay-per-view movies (of course). Coffee maker and fridge also in the room. The bathroom is large with granite countertops and shower wall. It is very peaceful and quiet...except for our 2nd night when we had a highschool football team stay on our floor (oh joy), so we could hear the little critters walking and talking up and down the hallway late into the night. The breakfast was good too, though you had to heat a lot of it up because it was set out uncovered. Other than the latter two points, we had an excellent experience at the Bay Landing.

We stayed on June 12th, for 2 nights, and the stay was fantastic! I now go through trip advisor to review hotels before reserving a room and I have to say I'm sooooo glad I did. We were able to check in early (11am) and the staff were terrific! They were very friendly and courteous during our stay. The "deluxe" continental breakfast was more like a breakfast buffet. They had freshly made waffles, pancakes, bagels, muffins, cereal and fresh fruit. They also had several juice options to select from. What made the breakfast better was that they were constantly replenishing the food, assuring there was enough food for everyone. I, obviously, recommend this place to anyone who is wishing to stay in San Francisco. They are about 30 minutes away from Fisherman Wharfs, but it's well worth the commute. For an ocean view room, it was only $99.

Top Local Tips for Burlingame

Pack warm clothes. The weather along the ocean and the bay is colder and breezier than we expected. Be sure to pack sweaters and comfortable walking shoes. Plan to layer your clothes so you can add or take off as the temperature varies greatly from the coast inland and from morning to afternoon and evening. Dress casually and comfortably.

Marriott Steak House This is a pricey steak house inside the Marriott hotel, just down the street from the Bay Landing Hotel. It was very good steak, but for the money I wish we would have gone into San Francisco to eat.

Burlingame Avenue Get a cab to Burlingame Avenue, great restaurants, shopping and some nightlife.
