One week after my stay, I was hugely insulted when they sent me a letter telling me they were adding a "room cleaning charge" to my credit card. When I pointed out to them that they had obviously made a mistake because I have never smoked a day in my life and am extremely sensitive to smoke, they refused to acknowledge their mistake. I would think after dropping $1000 on a five day stay in the hotel and the restaurant, they would be more careful about who they were "stiffing" with this fake charge. If this happens to you, file a report with Coast Hotels and Resorts head office and the Los Angeles Better Business Bureau. Not that it will do any good; once they have your credit card, they can add all the charges they want, but hopefully it will prevent them from scamming someone else.
