My husband and I thought it would be nice to round off our trip to the USA by staying at the famous RBW.
Upon arrival the valet parking was like a military operation, so wonderfully executed, they also took our luggage and arranged for it to be sent to our room.
We were very fortunate when we arrived as the hotel was undergoing some renovations and we were upgraded to a small suite, with a living room with balcony, huge bedroom also with balcony and a large bright and well appointed bathroom.
As a welcome the hotel manager even sent us some chocolate covered strawberries with Spring Water, very nice indeed. We ordered room service the first night and they set up the table in our room with everything we needed for an intimate dinner for two!
The rooms were beautiful, decorated in muted tones, a large comfy bed and all of the soft furnishings were not overstated.
The views from the balcony were mainly of the local streets but we could see the 'Hollywood' sign far away in the distance.
We also had an evening meal in the restaurant and the food was marvellous. My husband is a chef and even he was impressed!
Overall I would describe our stay at the RBW as being extremely positive and we would recommend it to everyone, even though the price range may be outside some pockets, it is worth paying that little extra for the whole experience, we will definitely be going back!

From the valet parking to the unsolicited upgraded room to the friendly staff to the cool lounge and outstanding restaurant, the Regent Beverly Wilshire is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The suite was huge and the two bathrooms large and immaculate. The staff at all times treated us like we were celebrities. Our 15-year-old daughter was in heaven, half expecting to bump into Orlando Bloom at every turn. When we stopped in the lounge for a drink before dinner, the hostess came over to our table after seeing it was taking more than about three minutes for us to get service. The food in the lobby restaurant was great. Also, the girls will not want to miss the Escada store in the lobby or they can walk right across the street onto Rodeo Drive. You only live once.

Beverly Hills Elegance

We spent three nights at this hotel in the heart of Beverly Hills in early March 2005. We have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world and it's not often that we feel so at home as we did at the Regent Beverly Wilshire.

Our sun-filled suite had mountain views, two balconies and a relaxed, Four Seasons elegance that seemed a perfect fit for its location. The bed was remarkably comfortable and the furniture, fixtures and marble bathroom were all top-notch.

Now that we've stayed there, we understand why this hotel has succeeded for so long at being one of the finest places to stay in Los Angeles. The impeccable service from the warm and friendly staff and the elegant rooms and public spaces make this a hotel worth coming back to again and again. We highly recommend this hotel.

An Experience in Refined Elegance

From the first contact with the reservations clerk at the hotel, it was obvious that the Regent Beverly Wilshire holds courtesy high on its internal priority list. The services provided by all hotel staff - from parking attendants to front desk clerks to housekeeping - is nothing short of extraordinary. The rooms are sumptuous, well maintained, cleaned twice daily, and are furnished in styles reminiscent of an earlier era of Beverly Hills glamour. Our stay at the hotel was magical, since we are really not the royalty we seemed to be during our stay. The only drawback to the entire experience was having to leave the hotel at the end of our trip.

Beverly Wilshire...a MUST

from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed here October 2004 for ten days. Although expensive, everything was professional and very friendly staff. Stayed in the Beverly Wing overlooking the beautiful pool and views of LA. Had a balcony and room was very well furnished, not over done. Bathrooms marble and lovely. Staff will do everything to help and advise well. Limo offer a great help and fun, except often have to wait too long BUT the drivers are the friendliest and do everything to make your stay even more enjoyable...A great hotel, compared to 4 star French Riviera Hotels is equal. Room service was good but not exceptional and expensive. Breakfast was best meal they offer. They give ample towels and soap, shampoo, etc., products which is what every hotel should do and not be so cheap about filling the bathroom with this. Very helpful all around and would return here wihtout hesitation....Only surprise is that I feel they should collect guests at airport free of charge since paying a lot of money to stay here.

The Pretty Woman Hotel

from laurieSue
We arrived to celebrate my 30th birthday (2 sisters and myself) on Nov 12th, 2004 at 3pm. Check in went very smooth and Abe actually escoted us all the way to the elevator. We had requested the New Beverly wing b/c of a review we had read on this site. We got to our room and were extremely disappointed by the size of the room. It was as small as a european hotel room.....we were all upset. We called to the front to request a change and were told there was nothing available. We had 2 more guests joining us for saturday night and there was not going to be ANY room for a cot. By 7pm we called down again to request a change of room . An extremely helpful lady found us a suite in the older wing. I highly recommend the older original wing. Although the decor was a little outdated, the room we were moved to was for ONLY $26 more was 300 sq ft larger!!!! We became Pretty Woman!!! It was like a house. They had moved all our stuff for us and got everything all set up. We were finally in Paradise.
The valet was so attentitive and very speedy in there service. I highly suggest checking out the pool area even in the cold. We sat outside and were brought BIG cozy comfy robes to lay with while listening to the waterfall.
While in LA I suggest eating at Koi which is located on La Cieniga just 2 blocks past Melrose. The food was to die for as well as the atmosphere. Try the creamy shrimp tempura ,black cod, and the miami sunset martini. The paparazi was outside waiting for stars. We saw Jaime Fox from "Ray" as we were leaving.
We also ate in the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast . It was nice as well.
If you are looking for an elegant beautiful hotel with class , this is the place to be. Its definetly something to experience. We enjoyed our stay. Beware of the small rooms at $335 a night in the Beverly wing. Not a place to be. Enjoy the ritzy lifestyle.......We did!

A perfect end to our honeymoon

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband booked a junior suite (I'm guessing, but it was definitely a suite!) for the last two nights of our honeymoon. I had insisted on staying in the 'Pretty Woman' hotel and it was lovely! We flew in from Hawaii and entering this hotel certainly softened the blow of leaving our tropical paradise. We had a special deal where we had $75 credit to spend per night as the hotel is celebrating its 25th wedding anniversary. They were happy to oblige when my husband asked them to arrange a car to pick us up from LAX and the staff that we came into contact with during our stay were fabulous. I loved being here and a glass of champagne in the early evening in the hotel bar is a must! The only thing we thought was missing about the hotel was that before 11am there was nowhere for us to grab an informal coffee and wait for my cousin who was picking us up. Otherwise - beautiful hotel, fabulous service and one of the nicest bits of LA we thought!

The thing I appreciate most about the Beverly Wilshire is I can count on having a better night’s sleep there than at any hotel I’ve been to.

The beds couldn’t be more comfortable and the outer hallways are so quiet I sometimes wonder if I’m the only guest on my floor.

Without my asking, the front desk person upgraded me to a suite that was as big as an apartment.

I enjoyed dinner at Mr. Chow—a 5 minute walk from my door. It was great. Breakfast in the hotel’s dining room was elegant. (CNN’s Larry King sat a couple of tables away.)

Check out The Grove at Farmer’s Market on Fairfax. It’s a new shopping/dining/entertainment development that’s an easy drive from the hotel. They have a Barnes & Noble that stays open late and there’s a great place to catch a movie.

Superb stay in the RBW

from alrcam
My wife and I have just returned from a visit to the US and we stayed at the Regent Beverly Wilshire for 3 nights.
The hotel decor and furnishings are lovely and our room was great, not huge but very well appointed and very clean. The bathroom was beautiful. light and airy.
ALL the staff were more than willing to help and very friendly. I asked the concierge if they would arrange a cab for us but instead we got the use of the limo to take us to and from Mastros Steakhouse.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for a special occassion or if you can get a good rate, we did.

Professional all the way...

My wife & I and 4 year old daughter stayed at the RBW in July & were very impressed at the consistently excellent service provided.

When the iron in our suite "fell apart" while I was ironing a shirt, leaking some dirty-looking water/fluid all over my shirt, I called down to ask for a new iron. Not only was a new iron delivered within 3 minutes but the executive housekeeper came to apologise personally, whisked the shirt away without us having to ask, had it laundered and pressed (at no charge of course) within 1.5 hours, delivered back to the room, and a duty manager later called to make sure we were happy.

When my daughter left her sunglasses somewhere in the hotel (the only sunglasses we can get her to wear), hotel security tracked it down within 5 minutes (it was like a military operation) and delivered it to our room. The food was uniformly excellent in every outlet, and we especially appreciated the way that when room service was delivered, the bill had the gratuity added already and was placed in an envelope on the table so staff never needed to hang around for tips.

Every staff member greeted us in a polite and friendly way, and made us feel as important as any of the visiting VIPs.

While we love the Hotel Bel Air for its fabulous setting, in terms of professionalism & service, the Regent Beverly Wilshire can't bebeat.

Top Local Tips for Beverly Hills

The Restaurant at the Beverly Wilshire- The BLVD We experienced breakfast (easter Sunday), lunch, and late night dinner ...and each time was superb!

A legend with average service Go there to watch movie / music stars but do not stay as value for money is not great, especially service (as compared to Beverly Hills Hotel for example)

Get a sedan as they are not a lot more expensive than normal taxis Contact GOSEDAN.COM For about $84 one way you get picked up and greeted at the airport.Superb on time service and by the time you pay a conventional taxi service and wait in line etc you would probably pay $60 with tip.
