I was told it was only two short blocks from disneyland, but in reality it was four or five extra long blocks just to get in the gate, and it is very tiring for small children. The staff was very courteous, but I would not stay there again.

We stayed at the Super 8 on Katella for two weeks May 2004 and one week November 26th to Ded 2nd 2004 - both stays rate 10 very clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. Have recommended to friends that have also since stayed there and they were also extremely happy with the accomadations.

Top Local Tips for Anaheim

Don't take a taxi If you are going to Disney or any other part in L.A, take shutlles or buses no taxis, they are cheaper, safe and comfortable.

Disneyland, CA Adventure Start your day early if possible- less crowded. Bring your own food and just buy 1 meal. Watch the fireworks from Main Street. Go on California Screamin', Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tower of Terror & Soaring over CA. With little kids, visit Bug's Land, but not the 3D show. (Bring a swim suit or a change of clothes) The show that commemorated 50 yrs of Disney was great if you've been there as a kid. Brought back some great memories.

Tea drinkers and walking Anaheim doesn't seem to do tea very well, I suppose being a nation of coffee drinkers? The 7/11 on the corner had take away tea and I"ve never made a trip to buy a take away Tea before, but here I did. Next time I'd take my own, a travel jug to boil water and UHT milk so I could make it in the room. It didn't matter so much about no refridgerator in the room, because the days were full of activiites, you didn't spend much time in the room. But I do like to wake up to a morning cuppa, in the privacy of my room. I missed that, but managed to work around it. Being overweight and not a walker I did lots of walking here, but it didn't seem to matter. I wore good walking shoes and my legs and feet held up all day, especially chasing a 9yo from one ride to the other. I felt safe walking back from disney to the hotel at night (7-10pm) on my own with my 9yo.
