Top Local Tips for Anaheim

Taking food into the park in zip lock bags. As of January 2006 when we were there last, park security was searching all bags entering the park. Interestingly they didn't have a problem with bringing food into the park, however it had to be obviously your food, and not commercial food for resale. So one time we picked up burgers at McD's and tried to take them in, but they were in the original sacks so we were rejected but told to go repackage them and come back. So we repackaged the burgers in Zip Lock bags and then the security people were happy. So the tip is take Zip Lock bags with you!

South Coast Plaza Shopping Catch the shuttle which costs $13 from the nearby Fairfields Marriott (behind McDonalds) to South Coast Plaza - good shopping and east to do.

Take a walk down the road and save some money Like I said in the review, supermarkets are just down the road for cheap food items, walk down taxi back. There are vast amounts of restaurants (Quiznos for salads and sandwiches, Tony Romas for ribs and vegetables, Chinese, Pizza, IHOP, Millies, Captain Kidd for all you can eat $9.95 buffet, Mimis, Mexican) and McD's. The bus boy at the IHOP is so quick I thought he was having a seizure. Most hotels have outlet stores for cheap disney stuff. Ramada has great internet cafe. You can take some food and water into Disney though they check your bags for weapons so make sure you cut your food before you go.
