Top Local Tips for Tucson

Tucson and its numerous attractions Tucson is quite beautiful, wide open, but very, very baren for long streches, especially along major byways. It also has numerous shopping malls that are quite clean and very modern looking. The scenery, meanwhile, can't be beat, since everywhere you drive or walk, all you see are these beautiful mountains arising out of the Earth. Therefore, until I got used to this (which took me about a week, by the way), I sometimes felt as if I was going to drive right into the awe-inspiring mountains, which then always got me very, very nervous. I mean, when you feel that the mountains are going to come right through your windshield, how can you not feel a little uneasy? Finally, yes, Tucson has "dry heat," but heat is heat, whether it's dry or not, so you really have to give yourself time to adjust to such high temps, especially when you come from the East, like I do. So, yes, it's a great place to visit, but I sure did miss my trees, flower beds, plus the rain!
