| Weird experience |
| I took a group of 5 young basketball players to Tucson to attend the Lute Olson Arizona Wildcat Camp. It was our base for the week as it was close to the UA, and the rates were affordable.
The good- nice rooms, good service, great olympic size pool, great breakfast.
The bad-pigeons perched on the edge of the roof on the north side of the building made for lots of extra car cleaning if you were unfortunate enough to have to park on that side.
The ugly-there were many stray cats in the area. Just our luck, one small cat climbed into the housing of the fan on my blazer. As we traveled to a waterpark, on the second to the last day of the camp, we nearly died from the stench. The cat had its head crushed the day before by the fan and it was lodged in that location overnight. Not knowing what was the problem and being that the car was brand new, I took it to a Chevy dealership in town. They were great about checking on our problem as we were on our way home, back to NM. They were able to locate what was left of the poor cat and pull it out. It took a week of flushing out the car to get rid of the smell.
Back to the motel. They have a serious problem with birds and small animals running about. Beware! |
