Historical Traveller Reviews of Adobe Rose Inn Hotel

5 nights, plus several more for some of us

from A TripAdvisor Member
Marion and Jim Hook were wonderful hosts for our 5 nights, (plus some of us stayed more nights) of 16 people, including a 2 1/2 year old.

This was a family reunion to celbrate a 75th birthday, and Marion and Jim let us put up pictures of family members, show DVD's in their living room, plus letting us have a great time. Four other members ate breakfast with us, as they were staying elsewhere. (the Adobe has room for only 16)

The breakfasts were fantastic!!!! We asked how long we would have to stay to have the same breakfast twice, and they said "3 weeks". It was wonderful, as my husband and myself had a room off the courtyard, that allowed us to pack lunches everyday for the 5 days. We are birders, and each day we visited a different area where there were no places to eat, and this worked out better than expected.

All in all, they are great hosts, and we would recommend them to anyone, and perhaps will stay there again when a grandson graduates from the University in Tucson.

Thankyou for letting us tell others about this great bed and breakfast!
Sincerely,
Ruth Arp and Kyle Pollock

Comfortable, Cozy, and Quiet

We recently concluded our second stay at the Adobe Rose Inn. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and we especially enjoyed the many choices of places, indoors and out, to sit and talk, read, or enjoy the sunshine. The inn is quiet, but close to everything. The breakfasts are delicious. The conversation flows as freely as the Alterra coffee. And what interesting people! (Including hosts Marion and Jim.) This is a very special place. We are looking forward to another visit.

A Gem in the City

Located just two blocks from the Univerity of Arizona you are sure to meet a unique mix of people (parents to professors) from all over the world. At the breakfast table the food and the conversation is outstanding. I have stayed at this beautiful inn four times and can't wait to return again.

Jewel of Tucson

from OntarioAmelia
My husband and I live in Ontario, Canada and have just returned from our second visit to the Adobe Rose Inn, a stay of eight days. Last December we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to Arizona, including four nights at the Adobe Rose Inn. I have planned many trips to far away places including Alaska, Iceland and Catalunya using the Internet so I did a Google search for B&B accommodation in Tucson and selected the Adobe Rose Inn, charmed by its website and the swift and cordial response to my e-mails.

The Adobe Rose Inn is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The warmth and hospitality of Marion and Jim, the comfort and wonderful ambience of the entire inn, the incredibly delicious and sustaining breakfasts, the conversations around the breakfast table with interesting guests, the elegant and beautifully appointed rooms all surpassed expectations. The Adobe Rose Inn is situated in an ideal location, close to airport and major highways, two blocks from the University of Arizona and not far from several fine restaurants.

I would highly recommend this veritable jewel of a B&B to anyone visiting the Tucson area.

I just returned from a business conference in Tucson, Arizona. The trip was a whirlwind from the moment it started to the moment it ended. The only bright spot was the very restful and most hospitable bed and breakfast I have stayed in. The Adobe Rose is a bed and breakfast in
an authentic adobe home located in an historic neighborhood in Tucson.
It is located within walking distance of the University of Arizona and a few
blocks from many eateries and bars. The innkeepers were very accomodating of my schedule and even had a beverage waiting for me when I returned from a long day of conferencing. I would highly recommend this B and B if you are going to be in Tucson any time soon.

Nice oasis in historic neighborhood

from reyorrenee
I had a very nice time at the Abode Rose Inn. I was in Arizona recently for work, and the inn provided a nice oasis for me in Tucson. I stayed in the Casita, a separate building from the main house. It was perfect for one person, with a bedroom, small sitting room, and bathroom with shower, all decorated in vibrant colors. The full breakfast was tasty, and there was a nice covered patio where I was able to get some work done in the fresh air. I wish that I had some time to use the swimming pool or whirlpool but had no free time during the day. I would definitely stay there again if work takes me back to Tucson!

As nice as home ...

A very pleasant 2-day stay; very clean and comfortable rooms with excellent service. Marion and Jim are wonderful folks - and very accommodating; I would not hesitate to stay with them again!

A Special Vacation

from A TripAdvisor Member
WOW! There was something special about staying at this B&B. My husband and I began our day by waking on a king size bed in a spacious room (the Sam Hughes room) with a fireplace. We had a delicious breakfast every morning made with love and care from Marion (thanks again Marion for the baked oatmeal recipe). It felt more like home. We were within walking distance to the University of Arizona and just a few minutes drive from downtown where we found a mix of Indian and Hispanic cultures. We have only been home a couple of weeks and are talking about our next visit to the Adobe Rose Inn where we can share the great company of Marion and Jim (Innkeepers of the B&B). Thanks again for the hospitality, conversation and relaxation.

A Total Experience

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Adobe Rose Inn is a vacation paradise...The property is impeccably maintained and provides a "home-away-from-home" environment. Marion and Jim are very gracious hosts and are a wealth of information on local attractions. (Ask Marion if she'll be making her baked oatmeal).

The surroundings are beautiful and feel like a resort within a city. The University of AZ is a short walk from the Adobe. It was also a convenient and central location to other attractions in the area.

The rooms are well apportioned in an authentic Southwest motiff and have recently been updated. The pool and hottub are nice though the temps were a little steamy to use the hottub. I look forward to a return trip.

P.S. Marion, thanks for the early morning coffee and muffins for the trip back to the airport in Phoenix...it made the early morning flight more tolerable.

Top Local Tips for Tucson

Taxis Most taxi rides are in the $20+ range.....Jeannie's Taxi provides excellent service; have your innkeeper arrange for the pick-up. They will also meet you at the airport if you call ahead.

A good taxi service Jeannie's Van & Taxi--recommended by the folks at the B&B. All our drivers were polite and on time, and they were upfront and honest about their fares. The number: 520-889-8294 or (toll free) 1-866-689-8294. Be sure to clear your credit card when you call if you intend to pay that way.

Artisans Old Town Area Fabulous beaded jewelry at inexpensive prices.
