Top Local Tips for Tempe

Tour of ASU We went here to tour ASU for my son who will be attending in Fall. It is very close to ASU, took me like 3 mins to get to car garage for visitor parking for tour at ASU. If you plan to tour ASU campus, there is no problem with getting into parking garage at all, they validate your stay.

Getting around the area Use the hotel's shuttle. Its free except for the tip to the driver. They promptly pick you up both coming and going. We never waited more than 15 minutes after calling to be picked up.

Old Town Tempe Great college and visitor main street, river front activities, close to buttes and parks, easy access to freeways and Scotsdale. For great food check out Montes La Casa Vieja, which has been serving great steaks and tasty bread for several decades. To work off your meal, take the paved hike up "A" Peak (trailhead is at main parking lot on Mill Ave). Sit at a sidewalk cafe and enjoy the sights. Nice mixed crowd of young/old, singles/couples at The Library on Mill Avenue. Don't miss an opportunity to walk across the old Mill Avenue bridge at night, it's beautiful.
