My stay at the Sedona Pines Resort was to short. The facilities and the units were great. I would go again but would stay longer the next time. Restaurant was good and staff through out the resort were very friendly and helpful. Lots of local activities to do. Scenery was breathtaking.

Fell in love with Sedona

from nakbrak
The sunshine and the red rocks are spectacular! We spent a wonderful week in Sedona driving 500 miles playing tourist. We visited many ruins, meteor crater, Jerome, Montezumas Well, and "stood on the corner in Winslow, AZ." to name a few. We want to go back as there is too much to explore in a week. Must activities are Red Rock Hot Air Balloon ride and
M Diamond horse trail ride and cowboy cookout. We stayed at Sedona Pines and loved it. ( trailer park looking to some, but I'd never seen a trailer so well equipped!) The adult only hot tub was the biggest and most beautiful I've ever seen. Peggy, the conciege, was magnificent. The only negative was the leased on sight restaurant which they should replace as it gives the resort a bad name. The grounds are clean and landscaped to perfection and the staff were so helpful.

Great time at Sedona Pines

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon in which we stayed at Sedona Pines. It was soooo easy to drive to from Phoenix. The cottages were great. I read some negative reviews and was a little nervous...there was no reason for my anxiety. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the things you may need for your stay for the week. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated. We, too, took a run of the place for an "incentive" which in general I hate sales pitches, but all of them do it. The concierge was so helpful in setting up things for us to do in town. We took full advantage of the ameneties of the facilities, except for the laundry room.
One thing I will say that we didn't like..the restaurant on the premises. There are so many wonderful (and pricy) place to go to in town, you might as well just skip it and go into town. We went there as we got in late in the evening. The steak was worse than Sizzler and the price was anything but. Another night my husband wasn't feeling well so we just ran down...still a mistake. I apologize to the chef, but it's something they, and you should know.

Buyer beware!

This resort outsources independent sales representatives to show up at public events asking unsuspecting visitors to fill out a drawing form for a chance to win a prize such as a $500.00 shopping spree at PetSmart. After filling out the form, the visitor is asked to attend a presentation at the Sedona Pines Resort as a guest of the representative. In return, the visitor is promised a vacation package. When I declined on the presentation, the representative handed my drawing form back to me with her number on it, requesting that I call her if I changed my mind. I had no chance of winning the PetSmart shopping spree, and realized that it was a scam. If this resort uses deception as a method of getting people in the door, I'm very afraid of what really lies out there. I'm glad I didn't attend her presenation because it would've resulted in me obligating myself to a vacation with all sorts of unexpected fees. I've never been to the Sedona Pines Resort and wouldn't knowing what I know now. I was very disappointed this afternoon and have contacted the Better Business Bureau and the media networks to inform them of this scam occurring at a local public event.

Do your homework !

from nothingizeasy
You must do your homework when exchanging. We did and Sedona Pines is exactly what we expected. Very clean in you own little house with a little deck and barbeque and babbling brook. Excellent appliances that you will not have in most time shares. They also provide free washing/drying machines to use. I would recommend you ask for an end unit as it provides more privacy. The staff were accommodating and respectful. providing any local information we asked for and switched our unit when we asked as we wanted an end unit. Granted, this is not top notch. If your expecting a luxury resort this is not it, however it provided us a comfortable home base to enjoy the most terrific area you may ever see and experience. Don't forget to visit Jerome and the Grand Canyon. Sedona Pines brings in the vendors for you to choose what tours and trips you may want to do. The pool is large and clean. But if you want a resort where you can spend your vacation don't go here. Sedona is about visiting the fabulous sites and experiencing the unique tranquility the area brings. So frankly don't understand the negative reviews other than to think the expectations were not where they should be. The location was perfect, not in the middle of but just a short drive out of Sedona This was a magical trip for us and Sedona Pines was the only trade I could find. No regrets here!

Over- rated property!

Poor service, trailer like accommodations, terrible, over priced meal , and confrontational management. Would never recommend staying here let alone buying into their "time-share" program.

We loved it!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Ignore the negative reviews; this place was wonderful! My wife & I were guests on an RCI exchange from my father and stayed from June 26 - July 3. The weather was absolutely gorgeous (there is no humidity in AZ!!), nights are cool. The red rocks in Sedona are absolutely amazing, you'll never tire of their beauty & majesty. You're truly in God's country. The resort has individual, detached units with a full kitchen (microwave, convection oven, fridge, sink, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, blender, etc...), bedroom, shower (w/jacuzzi tub), eating area, and living room w/TV & VCR. They're set up rather long & narrow (kind of like a trailer), but they make very clever use of the space (cabinets, closets & pocket doors) and we didn't feel crowded at all. Although some people might feel crowded in the bedroom. Other units have two bedrooms and are connected by the deck (one unit to the other, but we didn't see inside those). There is a nice deck on the side of the units with table & chairs, a pit BBQ in the back, with a little "babbling brook" that runs along the back of the units. Very peaceful at night to open the bedroom windows with the cool night air and the sound of the brook lulls you to sleep. There was an outdoor lagoon spa and pool (we didn't go in the pool), and they have an 18-hole mini-golf course, gated play area for kids, an "activities tent," where I guess they do stuff for kids (saw a few with their faces painted as cats...), tennis & basketball court, and fitness center. I do have to say I was impressed with the maintenance staff. He came in the fitness center & saw me working out & asked if everything was ok. I told him about one of the weight machines being broken, and within minutes he was back in there with tools to repair it! We didn't eat in the restaurant (it closes at 9 PM!), and it looked pretty small. One one end of the resort, there is an RV parking area, but it didn't bother us. They are also currently building new units. If you're looking for your typical huge resort-type hotel, look somewhere else. If you want to feel one with nature and relax in the peace & quiet of your own private cabin, this is the place for you. It was certainly for us. Would definitely go back, and I've already recommend it to my father...

Management poor, a trailer park is all it is.

from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a trailer park, not a resort. My husband and I went there to see about buying a timeshare from them. We were very dissappointed in the resort as well as the promise in receiving the gifts that were offered for the 90 minute tour. We never received the $100 in gas coupons. It has been over 2 years now and thousands of promises later. The management is poor, although they would like you to believe otherwise.

Hardly a resort, but....

We just spent a week at Sedona Pines as a guest of an RCI owner. I would not call this a "resort" by any stretch of the imagination. The entrance is very unimpressive as is the registration area--not resort-like at all. The "cottages" are very small but are fine for someone who just wants a place to sleep and fix a snack or light meal. The units are well appointed and very well maintained. The linens are changed mid-week. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The pool and spas are great and the play area also great for little ones.
We endured a sales presentation (to get a "free" incentive). We were not convinced this would be a timeshare we would ever consider however.

Sedona Pines Resort was first rate

from A TripAdvisor Member
We had a fabulous time in Sedona. The resort was very well-maintained and the staff was first rate. Granted the units were really more like trailers (covered with an adobe-like finish), but they were very well appointed and the space was well-used. The units were beautifully decorated and well furnished. The pool area was very nice and clean and the putt-putt golf and other amenities were likewise intact and well done. BUT, we did not go there to hang around the resort. The weather was fabulous and the scenery otherworldly. We took several moderate hikes and visited cliff-dwelling sites of the Sinagua. We also went to the Grand Canyon, an easy drive from Sedona. It was a wonderful vacation and quite different from our normal...which is to go to a great resort and veg by the pool with a good book! I would definitely recommend Sedona and Sedona Pines Resort.

Love Sedona Pines!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We LOVE the fact that each of the units are self-contained! AND that the two bedroom units are separated by a small deck - put the kiddies on one side and have some grown up time in the other! The provide games and books for loan and rent videos for the VCRs. It's a great family spot. We have been owners for several years and go up as often as we can. We're planning on spending our summer vacation there this year, too. The landscaping is always well tended, the staff is always helpful, the brooks are so relaxing, the large pool and spa are so refreshing, the barbeque pits outside each unit are great for an evening "in", and there's much more! Sounds like the person who called it a trailer park didn't actually stay there, just went to a sales preview. We've stayed in several other timeshares and each time wind up comparing them to Sedona Pines and the Pines always holds its own!
