My wife and I spent two nights in one of the two bedroom units at the resort. We both wish that we could have had more days to stay. The accomodations were excellent and very comfortable. We will recommend it to all of our friends and family.
The site is well worth the price. We hope to return soon.

Just got back from our stay here and wished we could have stayed another week! Our upper 2 bedroom condo was huge and beautifully furnished with full kitchen, jacuzzi and amazing views over the valley. Beware the "studios" however as they face "inward" with no views and are like dungeons - pay the extra for the 2 beds! The resort is actually a timeshare and still under construction but we weren't disturbed by any noise. It's very centrally located so we could walk downtown although there are some high-end shops onsite. Our kids loved the pool (amazing views) and the Activity Center which kept them busy. Some of the staff were a bit aloof but generally helpful. Book online for the cheap rates. We'll definitely be back!

Pleasantly surprised

We are just back from staying a week at this hotel, booked thru Expedia. After reading the reviews we were prepared to be unhappy with the studio room we had booked. We were fortunate I guess, it was an upstairs unit with great views of the hills (albeit with a big cell phone tower in the middle of the view.) The finishes in the room were above average (custom doors, marble double vanity, etc.) and brand new. We are a family of 4 with 2 small children and did feel a bit crowded after the first few days, but for the price it was fine. The pool is beautiful and our kids (6&9) enjoyed their 1/2 day at the kids club (there is a fee for this service.)
Our only negative with Sedona was the people pushing time shares. This did not happen at the Hyatt - but beware anyone in a booth in shopping areas that is overly friendly. The conversation soon turns to them paying you $100 to tour their property.
Our A Day Out West jeep tour was great, and bike rental at Bike and Bean, w/ a national forest across the street to ride in, was also a lot of fun.

Incredible rooms, I mean Incredible! Rock fireplace,Jacuzzi,Marble tops,Pillow top matresses, etc. There are however, some units set down in a hole to the left of the main building. We complained about the 3 flights of stairs and the deep, dark celler feel of it, and they were willing to give us a much better location. Since they will not assign a unit number before you check in, check in early to get the best room.The security guard said this is a time share property, still under some construction, and when they sell all the shares it will no longer be available to rent on a nightly basis.(only thru expedia by the way)You do not have to take the tour nor do they pressure you to, Thank heavens! My husband and I stayed at Pinon Pointe for three nights during our honeymoon. We got a one bedroom condo for the special internet price and it was worth every penny! Our condo was on the top of the three floors which provided us a spectacular view of the scenery. We took full advantage of the kitchen, stopping at Safeway and stocking up on breakfast items and snacks for the stay- housekeeping even did our dishes (without us ever expecting them to!). We loved the jacuzzi tub and the seperate gorgeous bathroom, and enjoyed having a living room to relax in after a day of sightseeing. I will never forget sitting on the balcony at sunset drinking wine and soaking in the magical views. The Hyatt gave us a discount card that provided us a 10% discount at restaurants around town that we used several times- and although we were approached about listening to a timeshare presentation- the staff was anything but pushy. Nothing could keep us from going back!

Booked online -- got a brand new 2 bedroom condo for the price of a hotel room! Full furnished kitchen, mini kitchen, washer dryer, 2 full baths with seperate jucuzzi tub. Dining area & family room.
Resort includes pool & activities for kids. Game room, pool toys. Shopping adjacent! Very freindly staff. Only complaint -- drunk woman by the pool swearing we stole the pool tools she bought for her grandchildren -- when we had just checked them out from the activity center -- oh well! some people! :) -- loved Yellow Jeep Tour!

Small dark studio - but still a good choice

Stayed here Memorial weekend 04. We had booked a studio, which was smallish and rather dark, without a view. That said, the room was well decorated and the bathroom was lovely.

The lack of a view was compenstated by the beautiful swimming pool and it's fabulous red rock views. Our son enjoyed playing at the little playground and at the recreation centre, where the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

We attended Najavo talk by the firepit, which turned out to be far more interesting - and less commercial - than we had expected.

Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants makes this a great place to stay in Sedona - particularly if you have kids who need some entertainment.

Relaxing among the Red Rocks

You have to remember, that this isn't a 'normal' Hyatt. This is a timeshare, part of the Hyatt Vacation Club. So if you're expecting the level of service of a "resort" hotel, you probably won't find that here. However, what you will find is a smiling helpful staff, nicely appointed rooms and a view like no other. (The staff did say that in a few months there will be resturants close by where you could order room service and a new spa will be opening). We had a one bedroom unit ([plus full kitchen) with a great view of the red rocks out of the bedroom and from the terrance. The fireplace was nice and the jucuzzi tub was great. THe bath room has a big (seperate from the tub) shower and double sinks. Past reviews say they could hear people walking around in the rooms above them. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the tile floor that are through out the unit. I didn't hear that much, but maybe we had quite neighbors. Also we weren't in the room that much. The pool area is very nice with 2 different hottubs and a fire pit. THe fitness center is has lots of equipment. Remember there is only one elevator so may have to haul your bags up and down stairs. We didn't find that to be a problem, but I could see where it would be for some. All in all, a speactaular spot. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful property with excellent views. Pool and exercise room were top-notch. We had a one bedroom with a complete kitchen, whirlpool tub and fireplace. Fantastic balcony with red rock views. Great location convenient to everything.

Some drawbacks- the walls are paper thin. We could hear every word of our neighbors' conversations. I'd never buy a timeshare here for this reason. Also, there are no convenient elevators, so plan on hiking up some steps with your luggage. And this might be nitpicking, but coffee for the coffemaker is only supplied on the first night. When we asked about getting more, we were told there was a Starbucks on property. Gee, thanks! C'mon, Hyatt, what can coffee cost you? Fifty cents a day??

Hotel was not the caliber we expected. It consists of 3-story buildings that are not connected to one another and have exterior entrances. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit on the 2nd floor. The sound of the people walking on the floor above us was horrendous. Not only did we hear the footsteps VERY clearly, but the floor squeaked and creaked VERY loudly! Also, in order to access our 2nd floor unit, we had to climb 2 long flights of stairs up to the third floor and then go down another flight of stairs to the second floor. The only elevator is located in the hotel lobby, which was quite a distance from our unit so very inconvenient to use. The entrance doors to our unit were very secluded and hidden to some degree and I would not have felt safe accessing the room at night had there not been an adult male traveling with us. The views from the main living area and main bedroom of the 2 bedroom unit were marvelous, but the view from the studio side of the unit was absolutely horrible (you are somewhat underground on that side) and had we stayed in just the studio unit, we would have been very upset. There were some positives – the property is beautifully decorated and centrally located and the 2 bedroom unit is very spacious, but there are definitely some big drawbacks to be considered before choosing to stay here!

Top Local Tips for Sedona

3 days in Sedona We went to go see the Grand Canyon which is a couple of hours drive. The road 89A to Flagstaff is very scenic. You won't be able to speed because of all the curves, so sit back and enjoy the views. (Unless you are the driver) We also went to an Indian dwelling called Montezuma's Castle which was about 30 miles away. Be sure to drive to the Holy Chapel or use the free trolley transportation.

PINK JEEP TOURS THIS IS A MUST DO IN SEDONA!

Vegetarian (but you don't need to be veggie to go here) 1) D'lish which is on the 89a as you leave Sedona westwards. Towards the end of the road. Great food and staff and value. Really Excellent choice for a snack, a shake (who knew that chocolate could be so healthy), lunch or dinner (they close at 8pm though) 2) Raw which is on the 89a west on the left. Small blue restaurant. very innovative food. Do not be put off by the raw tag. Stop and take a look and try a raw desert or shake if nothing else. The raw lemon meringe pie was yummy. Raw food has so many more enzymes and benefits over cooked food. I eat cooked food but it was a great place to stop and have something healthy and tasty. Go !!!!
