Good price of $99 for a well located hotel. Nice size room, clean. Food was average. Staff was friendly.

We stayed at the Chaparral Suites Resort in March and enjoyed ourselves very much. With three teenagers, we had enough room for everyone. We LOVED the cooked breakfasts and the evening refreshments. The grounds were well kept and the staff was friendly and responsive. The location is wonderful as you are close to shopping and restuarants. I would stay there again!

Top Local Tips for Scottsdale

Spring Training is Great (with caveats) If you have boys between 6 and 16, you really have to take them to Arizona at least once for Spring Training games. Here's a few things I wish I'd known before we went. Tucson is much more low-key and mellow than the Phoenix area. But that doesn't mean you'll get more autographs or balls. Be careful when booking your tickets and hotels; you can easily spend an hour getting from a Scottsdale hotel to the ballpark in Surprise or Peoria. Day games on weekdays are best for avoiding crowds; but evening games are extremely pleasant in the desert and autographs were very easy to get. And fans of good beer note: Fat Tire and Sierra Nevada are on tap at several of these ballparks. Would that you could get microbrews in real Major League Stadiums!

One of the largest malls in the Southwest Take the hotel shuttle to the mall. HUGE! Great dining options, movie theatres and shopping. All brand name stores - Victoria Secrets, Body Bathworks, Children's Place, Build a Bear, Discovery Channel store, etc... Food court for lunch had he usual choices.
