Summer Heat We were here in late June and the temp outside mid-day was over 100....hovering between 104-110. This is QUITE hot. But it is a dry heat. And that does make a huge difference....the extremely dry atmosphere actually makes the temp feel 5-8 degrees cooler. Most of the restaurants in Scottsdale have the outdoor "misting" system, where cool mist is being sprayed on their patios and it makes life more pleasant if you want to be outside sipping a margarita. There is a huge indoor mall in Scottsdale which is a great retreat from the heat, it is over 1 million square feet!, and has every store you can imagine. Also, going in and out of stores in old town Scottsdale is completely do-able in the Summer heat because the shops have their air conditioners set very cool and so you can hop from store to store without wilting. Overall we found summertime in Valley of The Sun to be a season that is beautful and one that can be enjoyed if you have enough indoor activities to keep you busy during the day
