Use Valley Metro All the locals thought I was mad, but I found the Valley Metro bus service excellent - new, clean, air-conditioned buses, runs on time. I found I could get around the city very easily. Its useful to have a copy of the 'Bus Book' though, which is a bit bulky. With light rail coming to Phoenix in December, there should be even less reason to hire a car.

Visting a sick friend The Best Western at 16th St & Northern is the perfect hotel. Clean and updated, cloud 9 series pillow top beds, flat screen TV's in most rooms. Heated pool, FREE full breakfast and happy hour. Beautiful mountain views, walking trail, and very calm atmosphere and friendly professional staff all at a reasonable price!
