I've stay at this property every year for last 4 or 5 years. It's well kept and breakfast is included. Get a good price through discount website plus airline miles. Only negative may be minimum available parking especially for trailers. You must unhitch your boat and place in its own spot.

The hotel make me sick

from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I were locked out of our room for hours, because the lock malfunction.
The front desk was rude and cold. No smile, no apologize, not even a sorry. We were informed "The manager will give you 10$ off, that's the best she can offer". Sounds like it is a favor, and we should appreciate it.

I refused the 10$ and called BestWestern's customer service to complain when I got back home. I was informed later by the customer service, that "the hotel planned to give you a discount, but becuase you used 2 rooms, they charged you for only 1 room"

Why do I need 2 rooms? The only other room we is a temporary room where my wife and I stayed when we were locked out.

And the front desk made long time personal phone calls. They will not answer your phone if you call from the room.

Loved this hotel...

We were on our way back to Salt Lake City from the Grand Canyon and stayed at this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and the lobby is inviting. We found our check-in to be friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious and oversized with 2 large beds with a living space. The room was clean and smells fresh. I would recommend this hotel. Kudos to the staff.

Ok but miserable staff

from A TripAdvisor Member
Chose this Hotel as have always been happy with "Best Western Hotels".
However the Reception Staff were most miserable and unhappy we encountered whilst in the States.
I was informed too busy to book our next nights stay at another Best Western Hotel when I rang down, which is normal practice for BW Hotels for those clients touring.
Seemed under pressure and under staffed(only ever one person on duty the 3 nights we stayed there although could see another person in the back office on 2 occasions who ignored us) for the number or clients requiring attention,
Bedroom comfortable and clean, but wish we had chosen a Hotel with a balcony off the bedroom.

This Hotel take groups so breakfast (minimal choice) could be a bit of a zoo if you are unlucky enough to take breakfast at the same time as them. Only 4 toasters for about 50 people one morning and not enough tables!!
Considering it was self service do not understand the reason for the bowl for tips!!
Only one elevator for too many bedrooms, when another group checked in on our 2nd day there was a huge queue.
The two drink/snack Vending machines on the floor we had our bedroom either out of order or practically empty of content
Did not use the pool as too busy sightseeing, looked nice and clean but devoid of atmosphere, just concrete with no nice touches like plants/garden.
Would try elsewhere next time we visit Page.
If the Management read this, try to get your Reception Staff to smile!!
Or change the management!!
He/She should have been on hand to assist at busy times

The worst experience in the West

My wife, my children and I came to check-in to the BW Lake Powell on a Friday about 3pm and were given a room which is #123, on the ground floor overlooking the car park. When we asked for an alternative on a higher floor we were told that they were limited within the hotel and the only one available to us was the one we had on the ground floor. To say the receptionists were blunt was an understatement.
As we were staying 3 nights, they proposed to move us for the 2 last nights in an other room.
The following day, they told us they will not try it and that we had just to leave (without to be paid back) if we were not glad.
Again the staff were less than polite and frankly not interested in considering usas customer.
However worse than that was an electrical box right outside the window that created non-stop humming noise.
Yet again we went to reception to complain and ask for another room and although the man with cowboy hat was promising this box will be shut down at 5:00 pm, we did not sleep the whole night due to the noise.

Breakfast is dreadful. Junk food in plastic bags. not enough tables for the clients and at 7:30 am, you swim in the milk everywhere (floor, tables & chairs).

To say this hotel was a "bit of a zoo" is being kind to it and frankly I wish I had gone to the Arizona Inn or the Quality Suites both of which are right beside the BW Lake Powell.

The staff are totally surly, unhelpful and totally disinterested in their customers and worst they lie for everything.

We've been living in the States 5 yrs and never we had to face such problems.

Pity about this hotel in Page - the scenery and location is truly spectacular and worth seeing - just make sure you pick the right hotel.

NEVER STOP BY THE BW AT LAKE POWELL !

What is this fuss about Lake Powell???

from hatschii1
We arrived in Page around 1 p.m. and were told that the room would not be ready until 3 p.m.. So we decided to go for some lunch and look at the Glen Canyon Dam. We went on the Glen Canyon tour which was great - it was probably the highlight in and around page. The motel room was clean and spacious. The electrical box outside of the window was noisy but due to the fact that the parking lot was right there, too, we just kept the window closed. The staff was kind of friendly and helpful - but just kind of. There was one guy with a cowboy hat who was really nice. Breakfast was not worth the time. The coffee was practically undrinkable - so was the one in our room. But that is a matter of taste I guess. The pool was way too crowded and small for the time of year. The first night was really expensive because it was July 4. The second night was ok I guess. I woke up at 5 am because the person in the neighboring room decided to turn on the water. The water pressure made a very very loud sound as if the pipe was to jump out of the wall. Turning it on and off kept me up for about an hour. We went to see Lake Powell and were rather disappointed. Hardly any place to go swimming. I don't see the point in visiting Lake Powell if you don't have a boat or jet ski or something fun to get on the water. For swimming only it is absolutely not recommendable. However, Escalante NM is rather close to Page and so is Lee's Ferry. If I am to stay in Page again - I would probably go to the Arizona Inn.

Decent but not Terrific

Best Western at Lake Powell was standard but fine. Crowded and a bit loud at times with all door banging. Continental breakfast should be cancelled and have money taken off room instead. Not enough chairs at pool.

Would probably try another hotel in Page next time for more charm.

Avoid this place unless you have no other option

My wife and I tried to check-in to the BW Lake Powell on a Saturday about 1pm and were told that there was no way our room would be ready until proper check-in time at 3pm. Having stood behind two others who were checked in immediately before us I asked why we could not check in to be told that our room was not ready and no alternatives were available. To say the receptionist was blunt was an understatement.
My wife and I returned at 4.15 and we were given a room on the ground floor overlooking the car park. When we asked for an alternative on a higher floor we were told that we had booked an upgraded room and they were limited within the hotel and the only one available to us was the one we had on the ground floor. Again the staff were less than polite and frankly not interested in helping us.
By 9pm the car park outside our window contained a couple of boats on trailers and a 50 seat bus that had just dropped off a tour party - all parked right outside our window! However worse than that was an electrical box right outside the window that created non-stop humming noise.
Yet again we went to reception to complain and ask for another room and although the woman was very polite this time, and apologetic, the hotel had a couple of tour parties in and was full so there were no alternatives to re-locate us.
Needless to say there was little or no sleep that night due to the noise from the electrical box outside the window.
To say this hotel was a "bit of a zoo" is being kind to it and frankly I wish I had gone to the Arizona Inn or the Quality Suites both of which are right beside the BW Lake Powell.
The staff (with one exception) are surly, unhelpful and totally disinterested in their customers and this thankfully was a one night stay. There is no way I would have stayed in this hotel for another night and I caution anyone about booking this hotel.
Having spent nearly a fortnight touring around New Mexico and Utah before arriving in Page this is the only hotel that my wife and I had a serious problem with - the rest of the hotels (many booked after reading the trip advisor reviews) were good or in some cases excellent.
Pity about the hotel in Page - the scenery and location is truly spectacular and worth seeing - just make sure you pick the right hotel.

Great location

Clean and big rooms, and a great view to lake powell. Price was a little bit expensive.

Very happy

from A TripAdvisor Member
We were very happy with our stay at the Lake Powell Bestwestern. Rooms were clean and spacious. One improvement would have been the view. Our room overlooked a side street. The other complaint would be that the pool was icy cold. It took a brave soul to go in and then it didn't last for long. We were there 5 days and the staff was more than willing to help with anything we needed. There are lots of tours you can take but we chose to go it on our own. Highly recommend the Glen Canyon Dam Tour. Also, make the trip to Monument Valley. Well worth the drive. We just didn't have time to do everything we wanted to do. We'll be back.

Great views, skip the breakfast.

I stayed here for two nights in April. The hotel has a great location. The room was slightly oversized and included a small refrigerator (a nice touch). Everything about the hotel was fine except for what they called breakfast. You better like donuts or muffins because that was it. That said, I would still stay here again. There is a Denny's right down the street for a better breakfast.
