London Bridge area undergoing renovations The "English village" shopping area around the bridge is pretty much defunct, a product of a bygone era. There were only a couple of shops still in business. But the good news is that the whole area is being renovated and updated, presumably with more modern stores and themes. There are still plenty of good places to shop and eat in the local area.

Take a detour to Mojave National Preserve in California We were disappointed by the offering of things to do in Lake Havasu. Some of the downtown area is run-down and closed. All of the Spring Break activities have been cancelled by the local retiree population. There are a few decent restaurants by the London Bridge, but unless you own a boat or plan to spend your entire vacation sitting on a boat...there's not much to do. We recommend taking a two hour detour to the Mojave National Preserve in western California. They have a nicely remodeled old train depot, huge sand dunes, lava cones and lots of outdoor exploring. It's a little cooler here as well.
