Nice, professional, and good value

Great value. Nice, large, bright and clean rooms. Beautiful trees and large heated swimming pool. Easy access from parking lot to rooms. Staff was professional and friendly. Several good restaurants on premises.
The A/C in our room broke down, but as soon as we reported it they sent the maintenance man who quickly fixed it.

Sophistication

We stayed here for the last 2 nights of our 10 night tour of Arizona and Utah and we certainly saved the best till last - this hotel is wonderful.

The rooms are a good size and very well furnished with huge beds, a comfortable sitting area and lots of pillows!!

There is a good gift shop, however this does not sell drinks and snacks for which you have to go to the garage next door. The Pines Restaurant provides good food but if you really want to treat yourself the fine dining resaurant is excellent and provides wonderful food in a very relaxed sophisticated setting.

The only problem we experienced was with the new carpet along the corridors which produced so much static electricity that we received `electric shocks' everytime we opened the metal framed doors along the corridors.

Surprising quality and value!

This hotel is really hidden away in all the Rt. 66 signage in Flagstaff, but it was a great value. Flagstaff is a wonderful homebase for day trips throughout Central AZ (Petrified forest, painted desert, Sedona) and it's hard to imagine a better place to stay for such a purpose. It isn't extravagant, but for the price, we didn't find a better value in the Southwest. Very nice rooms (sure, some of the decor is slightly outdated, but the quality of the furniture and appointments is impressive), good restaurants, and a relaxing lounge for the end of the day. Also, you'll be really surprised by the hotel grounds, which include a 2-mile hiking path!

Excellent value--I will definitely stay there again if I go back to Flagstaff.

Not as great as we expected

Stayed here in early April. While the grounds are beautiful, the hotel staff very attentive and the rooms very large, it was not as great as we expected it to be. Decor is definitely dated, but what really bothered us was the lack of some basic fire/security features that you find in most hotels today. First, the outside entrances to the hotel are not locked at any time and do not require a room key/card for admission. Second, the rooms have not been retrofitted with a fire sprinkler system like many other older hotels that we have stayed in have been. And most surprising to us was that there wasn't even a fire escape plan posted on our room door (nor was there one on the door in the room next to us where our friends were staying). We can't recall every staying in a hotel that did not have a fire escape plan posted on the door. For a hotel of this calibur, we were shocked that it lacked these things. Additionally, the heater didn't seem to work as well as it should. While our room wasn't cold, it wasn't as warm as we would have liked it to be either.

Great Value

After staying at 5 star hotels earlier in our trip, we were a little apprehensive at what we may find at Little America.
We shouldn't have worried. The public rooms were
most welcoming and the bedroom very large and comfortable. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.
A great location at a reasonable price.

Best hotel I have ever visited

I wish all hotels I've been to were as nice at Little America. My fiancee and I stayed there in late January to celebrate our engagement. We had a second floor suite with a beautiful view of the woods and mountains. The staff were excellent and always happy to serve. All three restaurants had the most delicious food! Our room was spacious and the room service was very fast. We enjoyed walking the snow covered trails and soaking in the heated outdoor hot tub. It was very romantic with all the steam in the middle of winter. Anyway, parking was ample, TV was great, and I could go on... but you get the idea. To anyone who didn't like Little America, you are obviously too picky and need to relax a little. Don't walk, run to Little America. Ciao.

I was dissapointed that we visited in April and the pool was closed. I guess I was led to believe that the heated pool was open year round - hence heated! Also the playground was gone while they were making improvements. The new playground will be really nice by the way. The 2 mile jogging trail around the property was the highlight of our trip in flagstaff - very nice. Also my husband and son loved visiting the crater.

We actually stayed in one of the apartment suites that they are rumored to have! 2 bedrooms, 1 bath (very big!). Unit had a washer/dryer, fridge with icemaker, stove, oven, dishwasher. Really nice apartment like granny lived there. My kids enjoyed it.

Also had a problem with the tv and the disposal...but to their defense...I didn't contact maintenance.

The room service was fast and the buffets looked good and priced really well. I didn't like my one meal, but that may have been a fluke.

Overall, way too much $$$ ($250 with no discounts for AAA) for the space. We stayed in 2 bedroom units with a full breakfast at half this price with more to offer. Really dissapointed after reading all the good reviews about this property.

The staff at this hotel are very sharp , well trained & courtious. My first room assigned to me was a little noisy ( highway) ,so I asked for a court room view which was very quiet , the staff was quite accomadating. The rooms have a fridge , an excellent bathroom that is large well equipped, and excellent linens. The room decor dates from another era but the service also dates from another when people cared about the client . I'd highly reccomend this hotel.

Loved our three nights at Little America

We stayed here for three nights in April, based on reviews from Trip Advisor. The room was quiet, had plenty of storage space, and was pleasant. The food in the restaurant was very good and there was a helpful concierge in the lobby. Gift shop had reasonably priced items.
Free refills on sodas in the bar!!The toiletries for the bath were wonderful -- mineral bath, shampoos. Don't be misled by the pictures in the AAA book or the truck stop in front of the hotel. The building may be older, but it's still worth your consideration.

Cute, Clean... What a deal!

We decided to stay here based on other's accurate positive reviews on TA. Competent and friendly front desk, clean rooms, spacious. Gold Room restaurant pretty good for type of hotel! The lounge is great for socializing and even live music on weekends. For a meager $70/night, with AAA disount, you coudn't ask for more. Minor negatives include TV on floor, 70's decor.

Top Local Tips for Flagstaff

Cottage Place Dine at the Cottage Place. It is 5-star dining that you'd never expect in a little house type of setting.

No lifts The lodges are only two storeys high but we're pretty certain there were no lifts to the second floors, therefore we wouldn't be sure how suitable it would be for disabled people. We've no idea whether the hotel provides disabled lower floor rooms or not, but it's something you would have to check.

Make sure you go to the Old Town part of Flagstaff to eat There's lots of great restaurants in downtown Flagstaff, in the Old Town section, as well as some browsing in interesting little shops.
