There's a difference between old and broken!

It was basically as I expected: Charm, history, out of the ordinary, alas sans claw-foot tub. But it was a bit more threadbare than I’d hoped. There’s a difference between antique charm and simply broken. There is no reason for the bathroom exhaust fan (circa 1951 my best guess) to not work. The table lamp in my room had a broken (not just burnt out) bulb. And the flippin’ alarm clock (they should be praised for at least having one) was set to go off at 5:00 a.m. That was a nice touch. The view from the southern exposure room was terrible; it’s of a brick wall and the kitchen roof! The restaurant is wonderful and the staff a pleasure to have met. I recommend this place highly but wish to caution that your expectations not be too high. Also, I wish to thank the owners for saving this place from the wrecking ball. They’ve honored their trust.

Late For The Train Roastery It takes alot for me to write a review about a coffee shop, but this one is exceptional and consistent. I think the first time I was there was a decade ago passing thru Flagstaff on my way to the Grand Canyon. I grabbed a quick brew for the drive and was mesmerized ever since. I know of one location on the way out of town and one downtown. There may be others as well. All I can say is they make one of the most full-bodied, robust, olfactory pleasing cups on the planet. If you find yourself in Flagstaff, hit 'em up. You will be chasing Amy (er, so to speak) from that moment forward! Enjoy!
