Top Local Tips for Flagstaff

Some cool things.... LOWELL OVSERVATORY: First of all, a night trip to the Lowell observatory is imperative. I don't know any observatories that let you look through the biggest telescopes on the complex. There were about 7 scopes you could view, some were from the hobbyists being passionate, and three of the huge telescopes were open. The big one had Jupiter, and you could see the colors, stripes and moon. The coolest thing ever. SNOWBOWL: Its kind of neat taking the ski lift to the top of the mountain, just for the view. Make sure you get there at 10 am, because if there is lightning later, they'll shut it down. There is a nice little snack shack with good food there. Its nice to eat lunch in July and actually desire hot chocolate. Bring your jacket. METEOR CRATOR: Hole in the ground. Learn about meteorites in the Activity center. Go here only if you have time. WALNUT NATIONAL PARK: Very nice hike through some pretty country and some ancient ruins.
