ROBERT G. WHITE LARGE ANIMAL RESEARCH STATION I'm not sure too many tourists know about this---It's actually part of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and offers an up close and personal view of various large animals native to Alaska. Students from the institute of Arctic Biology conduct 30-45 minute tours where you see musk ox, caribou, and others---and learn about thier habitat and their existence in a very unique climate.

Great Thai food Every road seemed to have at least one Thai food restaurant on it. There was one Thai house on 5th street that was remarkable. The other great one is called Lemon Grass. The front desk was always helpful in showing directions to these and anywhere else in town. Oh and you really should drive that 10 minutes to see North Pole :)
