LaVelle's Bistro is the best restaurant in town Whenever I am in Fairbanks for a business trip I always dine at LaVelle's Bistro for dinner. Wonderful salads, entrees and wine. Fancy dining and priced as you would expect for the creative cuisine and fine wine.

Convenient to Fort Wainwright If your trip involves doing business at Fort Wainwright, Alaska (my contract site is located on-base), then the best (and closest) place to stay is the Regency Fairbanks Hotel. I have stayed there both in the Winter, and in the Summer . . . excellent hotel during all times of the year (free continental breakfast during the Winter months!).

Attractions The Museum of the North is considered Alaska's best museum. Located at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus it showcases the entire history of the state from prehistoric times ot the present with exhibits and dioramas galore. The museum is worth seeing for its architecture alone! Don't miss it! Also worth visiting are Pioneer Park and the Eldorado Gold Mine.
