Where to stay I liiked the SPringhill suites by Marriot. 6 story modern building good value at $109 for large room with double beds. The official tourism office is accross the street in log cabin.
Seeing the Aurora Borealis! Don't give up just because you don't see it right after dark. During my week in March 07, I went out on four nights to photograph the northern lights and was delighted with a great show every night, usually between midnight and 2:00am. Dress warm however, as it will be cold.
UAF Museum The University of Alaska museum is really nice. It contains a variety of info on the history of Alaska. It also has many native animals.
