Loved it! Great romantic courtyard restaurant

This is what a typical colonial hotel should look like...as if a Hollywood set designer did the place. The swimming pool is a nice place to cool off after a day of sightseeing too. The courtyard restaurant is especially pleasing and very romantic at night. The food is good to very good -especially the special Yucatan dishes - which you owe it to yourself to try! The rooms are pleasant and a good bargain. The one master suite is especially nice on the fourth floor. We did not get to stay in it as it was booked, but the maid showed the room to us and we wrote it down for our next stay. YES - there will be another visit - as we enjoyed ourselves very much. It is a nice point and counterpoint to the glitz of Cancun. Also go to Ek Balam - the Mayan ruin only about 12 or so miles Norht of Valladolid. Very easy to get to - and not overcrowed with tourists either.

The hotel was excellent. The staff was kind, caring, understanding, and patient with my limited Spanish. The food at the restuarnt was wonderful. The air conditioning in the room kept me comfortable throughout my stay. Rodrigo, the manager, was very helpful with everything we asked of him--tickets to the bullfight, directions to the local dance club, minor medical attention, etc. Found many things to do in the town. Will return again soon.

Ed Balaam Don't miss Ek Balaam. It's not far away on the road north to Rio Lagartos. It's not crowded and you can climb an impressive pyramind.

Cenote Dzitnup Very pleasant swim, not to be missed.
