Top Local Tips for Taxco

Silver Shopping in Taxco Although when you first enter the town of Taxco, you are overwhelmed by the amount of silver shops. The most large on the main entrance (at the miner's statue) is a coop of over 150 families that mine, refine and craft silver. The stuff here is wonderful, but pricey. Be sure to wander along the small and windy streets of Taxco to find the deals. What I could purchase for $38 in the coop was $18 at a street a little further up...same thing, same crafter! The silver is outstanding, and of course, you are able to haggle a bit, but why start at $38 and come down to $18 when you can start at $18 and come down to $12 (which is what I did).

Tianguis A silver "tianguis" takes place all Saturdays. You will find lots of people selling silver and other stuff at low prices.

Del Angel Inn Lovely restaurant with great views.
