Having been stung by so-called "good" ratings of a hotel on-line, I was overjoyed to find Casona De Manzano THE most lovely and well-managed hotel I've ever been in. It is the converted childhood home of the owner and her love and pride in this bed and breakfast is reflected in its care, maintenance and total ambience. I highly recommend it to anyone and will certainly return there every Mexico visit.

Tapalpa is a funky little town and as a lot to offer. Besides the great walking trails in the forests, my favorite spot was this hotel, and I use the word lightly because it is really more a home. The decorations is authentic and the wooden touches fit in so well with the rest of the time. But my stomach talks first and I have to say the home made breakfast in the family dining room did beat out the great sunsets from the terrace. Don´t miss it.
