So clean and cozy and convenient

Recommended by a local friend, La Noria is just a block from the main square. Small hotel, but extremely clean. Lots of nice small plants. Interior of hall ways lit by skylights. Very friendly and helpful staff. Smelled fresh. Reasonably priced at $30 for two double beds.

La Noria was slightly more expensive than some hotels in town, but rooms were clean, carpeted and comfortable. Rooms had TV and good bathrooms, telephone, but no temperature control. The hotel itself had heaters by the lobby, a nice front sitting room, and a computer with internet access. Main downside is the church bells that could wake you early in the morning, and that you can hear the lobby phone and conversations by the entrance quite loudly when the hotel is quiet.

Paper Cooperative Don't miss Taller Lenateros. It is a paper cooperative that supports about 30 families. They recycle old paper, mix it with flowers and make beautiful notebooks, cards, etc. They're happy to take you on a tour.

Phoning home San Cristobal was the cheapest place to phone home that we encountered in the whole of Mexico. Make the most of it! Calls are ten times the price in most other places!

Na Bolom Take the tour with a guide. Only with a guide. And forget the dinner, a poor value, overpriced and so-so food.
