The hotel is located outside of the historic district but it's only a short taxi ride away (50 pesos from the hotel to downtown, 30 -35 pesos coming back or 5 pesos on the bus). Two shopping centers are within a 2 minute walk. My friend and I ate breakfast at the hotel (wonderful buffet - 140 pesos - a little pricey but worth it) and then ventured out for dinners. (Sanborne's is located in one of the malls.) Extremely helpful/bilingual staff. Beautiful rooms. Queretaro is off the beaten tourist path but a great place to practice your Spanish and learn about the history of Mexico.
