I booked a weeks vacation (feb. 27-mar 6, 2005 for myself husband Jim and cousins Tom and Carol Hart. I payed for the reservation which was supposed to be 2 king deluxe oceanview rooms. We arrived at 3:30 PM on the 27th of Feb. and my husband and myself were given the room asked for. Our cousins were told their rooms were not ready so we waited for an hour, still not ready and were given another room. The Hart's were given a double bed room. Unsatisfied we went to the lobby desk and asked to have the Hart's moved to the king room. The person at the desk was not very helpful and ask the supervisor about the problem and we were told to come back in the morning, we did. Again we were told very rudly they could not help us. We also asked for help from our Worry Free Travel rep.
We decided to abandon the quest. The Hart's room keys stopped several times and they made many trips to the front desk for new keys. They also had very poor maid service often not getting their room maid up or towels replaced until near supper time. They also never had any evening room service.
On the other hand my husband and myself had a great king room, great maid service and no key problems.
I felt very badly as the reservation was in my name and the Hart's treatment was so much different from us. We have been coming to Puerto Vallarta since 1982 and have always stayed at the Camino Real and would have still if they were still there. We usually have 8 persons in the party and I am sorry to say that we are looking elsewhere for next years trip. The pool bar service was slow and too few waiters. The food and drinks too expensive. After a couple of days we went elsewhere to dine on great food and reasonable prices. I am hoping this letter will help other travelers in the near future. I only have one big vacation per year and at the price we paid for this one we were not satisfied at all.
