Top Local Tips for Puerto Vallarta

Eating in the marina We had 2 fabulous dinners in the Marina. The first was El Fagon... Your first margarita is free and they have every flavor ... from mango to strawberry to blackberry... delicious and strong. their signature dish is grill lobster... a wee bit pricey... but oh how delicious. We ate there last year and made a special return trip again last week. FABULOUS... Another favorite is Porto Bello in the Marina... the best italian food. and our favorite in downtown PV is the Riverside Cafe...

Tip Stay far away from Grupo Mayan sales people regardless of any empty promises

Things to do and where to eat Go on a Zipline Tour- Canopy River was AWESOME. Rigo will show you a great time. Go on the whale watching and snorkeling tour- great views and beautiful water. We hired a cab for a day to take us on a tour of Nuevo Vallarta- it was great, we really got to see what the Mexican culture was like from the poorest of poor to the richest of rich. The RHYTHM of the NIGHTS tour was AMAZING- check it out. EAT at Pipi's- the atmosphere,food, margaritas are GREAT. Las Arbolitos is another Diamond in the rough- it is not on the beaten path- worth the drive- best bananas flambe!!
