Poor customer service
I just got back from Mexico. I was @ the Descanso Del Sol. I called them from Chicago to book my room. I was quoted 980 pesos a night. I accepted the fee and the getn said he would eMail me the confirmation. He never did. I arrived there and was then told that I needed to pay 1250 a night! Feeling stuck I accepted it. Next, three nights in a row I asked for someone to give me a wake-up call. NO ONE ever did. I would complain, but the staff said that they were busy. I never heard them say that they were sorry. It seems that they just hire pretty circuit boys with no brains to work the front desk. The str8 man working on the rooftopbar is equally dumb and never greet the guests nor bid them good night. Next, I was astonished to learn that my lesbian frind could not visit the hotel for it is only for gay men and that just above rooftop bar there is nude sunbathing. Nice hotel, could be better but is good enough
Hi, well, considering that is Mexico and the place itself is beautiful I would say the hotel is clean, nice and exotic enough to be enjoyed by any single or gay couple who want to spend some time in this famous destination. Stewart above complained about some details that can be easily solved, but the overall experience is nice. Breakfast and meals could be much better indeed. I think there's a new administration by now.

Disappointing
Clearly the hotel is on the way out. It was spotted for sale in the window of an estate agent - on the market for $2.7 million. It needs a lot of money spent to bring it up to scratch. The staff were great despite the threat of lost jobs. Strange that they required payment in full on check in. Decor shabby. Breakfast was a joke.
