Unbelievable fairytale tree house with all mod cons. Up a rickety ladder into a tree, where you'll find a comfortable double bed and en-suite bathroom! We loved it, although about 4 times the price of most adventurous/economic accommodation on this coastline. A one-off luxurious night in good setting, nice staff and a stone's throw from the beach.

Top Local Tips for Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos This town is a small fishing village and still retains a feel of "real Mexico" despite the influx of Canadians and Americans. There are many small, comfortable places to stay and wonderful places to eat. The local guides take you to the perfect snorkeling places, and there are lots of live entertainment all through the year. Being half way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, it allows one to do all the glitz, glamour, shopping and big city stuff and then come home to a small, friendly authentic town.

We liked the Ojo De Agua The ojo de agua hotel was great. We stayed right on a beautiful beach, they had a helpful staff, and while the rooms needed some maintenance and could use some softer beds, the place was comfortable and quiet.
