Perfect location, clean and comfortable and super staff!

Having traveled 11 hours by bus from Oaxaca, which I do not recommend unless you take some motion sickness medication, we arrived at this wonderful, bright, clean, comfortable hotel and thought we were in heaven!
A large room with two large beds, beautiful soft peach/yellow interior, calming the eyes and the senses, and a large balcony overlooking the Zicatela beach where we saw the sunset every night over a glass of wine.
The hotel is within easy walking distance to Carrizalillo Beach with turquoise waters and a small eating place with delicious fish.
There are lots of nice eateries along the Zicatela Beach and the breakfasts at Mi Tio's were fantastic!!
The hosts at Hotel Ines were friendly and helpful, and the maid service excellent! The floors were washed every day! The place was immaculate! We vowed to return very soon and I am already trying to find the same room for next January.
You get great value for your money at this beautiful place. Take advantage of the low-key, friendly atmosphere at Zicatela Beach and Hotel Ines before the big, all-inclusive hotels arrive. I hope it will be a along time before that happens!!

Ines was very comfortable if you get one of the cabana doubles. The in-house poolside restaurant is quite good and cheap, and I would have eaten there every day if not for the wealth of other options in PE. The pool and hammocks were great for relaxing after a day at the beach, and they played great music like Billie Holiday over small speakers poolside during dinner. Every afternoon the maids would put out fresh towels fanned out like seashells on the beds, with a flower placed in the middle. Little touches like that made it very homey and cosy. You could hear the Zicatela waves at night and someone's tropical bird singing in the morning. It was very quiet and next door to the fine fine bakery on Zicatela, which was a daily morning breakfast stop for coffee, pastries, and fruit. Highly recommended, a great place and a great value.

Top Local Tips for Puerto Escondido

Vans from Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido It's best (fastest) to take a van and not a bus from Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido. The ride is 130 pesos and takes 6 hours. The vans are air-conditioned. There are 3 different van companies, check in the newspaper for their addresses. My hotel in Oaxaca didn't have this information.

Swimming with the Dolphins & Turtles Can't remember the name of our guide but he introdued himelf to us on the beach and gave us an idea of what to expect and howmuch it was before he gave us , his business card.He then came back half an hour later to see if we were interested which we were.The next morning he drove to our hotel at 6.30 to pick us up as well as other guests before heading to the next bay over and to his boat where he provided us with life jackets, fishing opportunities and of course the swimming with dolphins and turtles.He was really friendly and full of interesting advice about the area.
