I've actually stayed at this hotel a number of times. The staff has always been helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean, and everything works just fine. I agree with a previous reviewer that it's a great hotel if you're trying to save money. You're probably wondering how the beds and showers are, though, right? The beds are just fine and the showers (thought sometimes they take a little time to heat up) work great and never run out of hot water. I've stayed in other hotels in Puebla too, and I keep coming back to this one. None of the rooms face the street, so there isn't any traffic noise to disturb your rest. I also usually sleep with earplugs anyway, so keep that idea handy if you're worried about any noises waking you up. But it is largely due to the helpful staff that I recommend the Imperial. They'll bend over backwards to accomodate you.

I was wary upon walking in, after spending time at 4 star hotels. It is a bit like a youth hostel, but a little nicer. It was clean enough, but without much as far as its amenities. It is not fancy at all. There is a free supper, and a lovely continental breakfast buffet which contained the best fruit I had on the whole trip. Even fresh cactus. Stay here only if you are really trying to pinch pennies. There is a 30% discount if you mention Let's Go, so it only cost us like $35 a night. Location is good-- a few blocks from the zocalo and shopping areas.
