Top Local Tips for Playa Del Carmen

Ruines and Cenotes Book through the hotel, not on the street. We saved a lot of money. It included roundtrip fare, a buffet, tour guide through Chichen Itza, swim in a cenote, and a trip to a city outside of the ruines. The cost was only $40/person!

Tips Take a bus if you are going longer distances we took a bus one way for 10 pesos($1USD) and the taxi ride back was 180 pesos($18 USD!). Make sure you negotiate the price of the taxi ride BEFORE you get in the taxi. Buses are safe and clean. You can take the bus from the airport into PDC-super cheap, shuttle like Gray Line is about $18 USD each way, or a taxi upwards of $45 USD. Our Xel-ha Tulum tour package was totally free because we attended a Sandos Resort time share presentation. I would not recommend doing this though unless you want a free tour and have the patience and time ( 90 min turned into almost 3 hours!) then go for it. There is plenty to see and do. I suggest researching before going, and booking trips when you get there. Some tours only operate on certain days so try and book as soon as you get there and also before they fill up. Weather wise I was told February/ March is the best time to go, it is also one of the most expensive. Mosquitos attack at sunset bring spray!

El Cielo a lot of good looking and fun people, very nice music, nice place, entrance $400 pesos guys $200 girls
