Top Local Tips for Playa Del Carmen

Food Bargains Mananitas (main street between Calle 4 and 6) has delicious, inexpensive breakfast and dinner specials, usually fish prepared in an interesting way. Check their board out front. Java Joes (Calle 10 between Ave. 5 and 10) is well-run and a great spot for bagels and coffees, including capuccino and espresso. Their hangover bagel special, filled with egg, cheese, and sausage or canadian bacon, costs less than $5.00. Many of the restaurants offer wonderful fresh-squeezed juices and juice combinations. For really exotic, health-conscious concoctions, the 100% Natural place on the main street devotes a whole menu just to juices. Their whole-grain bread and tropical marmalade are scrumptious.

Charming little town with lots to do Stop by Deseo Hotel rooftop for drinks and atmosphere, walk 5th Avenue for people watching, shopping and late night pizza... live music at some venues, Parilla's restaurant for great local fish at dinner, easy drive to Puerto Moreles for lunch or dinner at Pelicano's... and a stroll on the beach... Talum historic ruins... it's windy most of the time... ferry to Cozumel for margaritas at Palmera's... you can even get them "para llevar" aka "to go." We love PDC and plan to visit at least annually. Judi and Shaz

The best is not the The Crowded On the 5th Avenue there is thousands of bar restaurants, clubs cafes, etc, dont get in a place just because is crowd, some times is just because the music or the happy hour but dinner or drinks use to be crap and the service too slow, take a look of the menu first and ask for special dishes to try the knowledge of the staff about what are they selling you.. remember is your money, time and taste!!!
