snorkeling Cozumel A lot of people who go to Playa Del Carmen know about Xel-Ha (snorkeling), Xcaret (culture) and Chichen Itza (ruins) but a lot of people do not go to Cozumel. If you like to snorkel go to Cozumel. Once there either rent a car (we use Budget on 5th between 2 and 4 or 4 and 6, I don't remember) or scooter (across from Budget) and drive down to Punta Sur. This is the southern point of the island. There is an ecological park here and it costs 10 USD to get in. Once in, you can see crocodiles and go on a boat in a mangrove and watch them swimming around. There is also a lighthouse that you can climb and the view is amazing. You can also go snorkeling on part of the 2nd largest reef in the world. We saw so much there. We saw sea turtles, sting rays, lots of fish, fans, brain coral etc. I'm not sure how much it costs to rent snorkeling equipment since we brought our own.

getting around Make use of the ADO bus service to go most anywhere. To & from the airport is $8.00 US each way. The bus station is located at 5th Avenue and Juarez. Collectivos are the cheapest way to go to such places as Tulum, Akumal, Xel-Ha, Xcaret, etc.
