Beware of the Food Tax There is no food tax in Mexico. A restaurant added a tax to our bill and when I questioned it they admitted it was their gratuity. So...traveler beware...check you bill before you pay. This particular restaurant tried to double up on the tip. Great eats in Playa Don't be afraid to try new food. Playa has great restraunts. Try La Pallette on 8th just a few doors up from the beach. Lebinanese food too - Makabu (something like that) right next to Babe's 2 on north end of 5th.
